About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

Again, pretty packaging. If this is how Avon used to be, they need to get back to their roots. Nothing attracts buyers like pretty packaging. LOL!

North American Avon is now New Avon LLC, we are a whole different ballgame than old Avon. We also have a lot of other stuff with super cute packaging, LE makeup collections, awesome clothes…it’s amazing!! We have new sheet masks coming out, some new liquid shadows that I think appear to be a dupe for the Stila Glimmer & Glows, it’s a good time for a makeup/skincare junkie like me to be a Rep LOL

And I love Soft Musk too, I was so glad when they brought it back! These new scents are nice, Cloud Nine is my favorite!

awesome thanks for the heads up Annie! sounds great!!!!!!!!! ;-D OMG I am so addicted to soft musk ;-D my fav! I’m looking forward to trying these Stories out!

You are so welcome! It’s pretty exciting, they have discontinued a lot of makeup through the first quarter of this year to make room for new and LE stuff. The new liquid shadows debut in campaign 8, as well as the new sheet masks. The sheet masks they had previously were way too expensive, they were good quality but $30 for a box of 4! I knew right away they wouldn’t make it. The ones coming out are not in the Anew line and have cute packaging and a price of $2.99 so much better! Oh and they introduced a sleeping mask for their Hydra Fusion line, which already has an in-shower mask. The in shower mask is basically a watery essence, but it’s good and I am loving that they are on the Kbeauty train!

Also now Avon is completely cruelty free and has the little bunny on the back of each brochure.

I’m looking forward to those liquid shadows! They sound great ;-D and I’m a sheet mask fan girl! Sounds like to have a lot of goodness happening! Glad to see that as Avon hasn’t been great in at least eight years now!

Thanks for the info. I didn’t realize Avon rebranded itself. Looking forward to seeing what they bring out.

Ooo, I may have to snag the last 3, especially Cloud Nine. I’m a sucker for anything with vanilla, so hopefully it translates well. I also love me some lemon and apple scents, even though they can sometimes be a bit weird if they aren’t done well… I don’t think I’d mind too much at $10 a pop. The only thing is, shipping is a bit high, but I guess free shipping with a $40 purchase isn’t too bad.

Yes to Cloud 9 and all that follow! I’ll ask my moms friend she is a representative she’ll be happy. Been meaning to try the blush strips they have hope still do they are similar to the Physians Formula highliter strips but a blush. They looked so pretty the shades!

It’s funny you said that these remind you of Pinrose scents. I bought that Rose Velvet fragrance several months ago and it really smelled like a niche brand to me. I like it well enough and am looking forward to a new direction from Avon. Love Avon, mind you, but I am looking forward to some newness.

    • Isabella Muse

I really liked Rose Velvet as well! Was a very nice fragrance ;-D Avon generally does really good perfumes (more so back in the day)!

      • Stacy

Definitely. It all started with my Mom who wore Moonwind. I still adore Sweet Honesty and I was delighted when they brought back Soft Musk. Sigh…. bring it on Avon I will but scent unsniffed (is this the olfactory version of sight unseen?) Anywho.

Now if they would just bring back Contrast. I loved that one

        • Isabella Muse

I don’t remember moonwind but I love Sweet Honesty too ;-D and Odyssey which I remember using in the 90s! I totally blind buy from them too ;-D I wish they’d bring back California! I still have two bottles and they are just divine and long lasting!

          • Stacy

And…. late last night I couldn’t sleep and was bored so I bought all four.

          • Stacy

I will for sure report back.

Did you see there is a bath bomb too in the Rose Velvet fragrance. I am really kind of excited to hear that Avon is rebranding a bit. I grew up with then and have always loved them so it’s nice to see them keeping up with the times/going back to their roots as well.

          • Isabella Muse

can’t wait to hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don’t forget about me ;-D omg no I didn’t see that. I love me a good bath bomb ;-D I’m glad too! maybe we can go back to the good old jillian dempsey days!

They arrived!! I ordered late on Thursday and they were delivered on Saturday!! Well, I love them and do not regret this purchase one bit. It’s really hard to describe fragrances, but I will try

Skip a Beat is my #1 favorite- it is a soap and water clean scent with a little citrus. I am a huge fan of the Philosophy graces so this one is totally up my alley. I will definitely need to get a back up of this one.

Something Amazing is my #2 fave- if I could describe it in one word it would be liquid sunshine. It’s a perfect citrus scent with a tiny bit of sweetness to make it super sexy. If you like citrus this one is for you. I am putting this one away for summer for sure.

Cloud Nine is a gorgeous slightly citrus, slightly floral vanilla scent. I think it’s really sophisticated and lovely yet playful at the same time.

Work Your Magic is my least favorite, but I am still glad I got it. The honey makes it a little sweet for my taste, but it is still a very pretty scent. I can see my spraying this on after my evening shower before I go to bed. It’s a comforting scent.

They could also easily be layered. In fact I just sprayed Skip a Beat over the Work your magic and I like that combo quite a bit.

As much of a perfume junkie as I am many do give me headaches and these did not at all. Again I know that’s an individual thing, but thought I would report.

If you can pick these up you should.

          • Isabella Muse

Oh thank you thank you thank you! this was SO helpful! They sound great ;-D and I would probably like Work Your Magic as I do so love a sweet scent ;-D thanks Stacy! Sold!
