Bare Minerals BarePro Longwear Lipstick Is All Kinds of Retro

Bare Minerals BarePro Longwear Lipstick Collection ($20) has arrived just in time for Spring 2019 in twenty shades and they bring back plenty of good makeup memories. Remember how slim lipsticks were all the rage several hundred years ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth. They were so chic and modern compared to our squat, chubbier traditional lipsticks. I remember the first few I owned and they made me feel terribly sophisticated and worldly.

I must have done a lot of growing up since that time as after I spent $34 on Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Refillable Lipstick I felt more broke than sophisticated haha!

I’m happy to see this new range of Bare Minerals Longwear Lipstick as I’m a Moxie Lipstick fan. I think maybe some of you likely already tried the BarePro Longwear Lipstick formula as it might have popped up on QVC already!

I haven’t as of yet. It’s apparently a gel formula with a softer matte finish that they market as being sweatproof, kiss-proof, waterproof (or cocktail-proof as they call it)! The matte finish does worry me as my lips are dry but count me curious none the less!

Anyone try the Bare Minerals BarePro Longwear Lipstick yet?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I bought the two sets available as a preview on QVC. I like these. They go on well and, on me, they are not very drying (although a number of reviewers on QVC say they are very drying). I also like that they go on smoother than the liquid mattes I’ve tried. I was disappointed when I saw the full range of colors, however. Most of shades I hadn’t seen already are more like BareMinerals Statement line — i.e., vivid and/or dark, with a couple of very pale shades. I’m not sure I will buy any other than the three shades I have that I really like — Cinnamon, Petal, and Geranium. Boysenberry is pretty but very dark and Bloom was too bright a pink for me. If you like the brighter shades, you might find more shades you like. I don’t believe the “last all day” part. If you drink tea all day like I do, you will definitely need to refresh, probably more than once a day.

Remember the Ultima II and Revlon Colorstay Long Wear Lipsticks came in the slim tubes? Seemed like it was a law that all the long wear lippies had to come in that packaging early on – LOL! I miss Ultima II… 🙁
