Milani Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme ($8.99) is a new satiny matte liquid lipstick that launched in 12 shade selections for Spring 2019. I’m quite a huge fan of Milani’s Amore Shine Liquid Lip Colors which did tempt me into trying the new Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme formula even though I’m not really a matte fan. That satin matte promise had sort of convinced me it wasn’t completely matte so why not try it.
Let’s take a look at my review and swatches of Milani Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme below!
Milani Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme is 0.22 oz in size and comes in a square barrel tube with with a flat sponge applicator for application. I do wish they’d do some variation on the packaging as when you’re storing these along with Amore Shine Liquid Lip Color, Amore Lip Creme, and many of Milani’s other liquid lipsticks you can easily get confused what formula you’re reaching for. This formula does have a “matte satin” written on the cap but that doesn’t help you if you’re storing them upright in a drawer and can’t see the cap. Anyway, minor nitpick there.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m just not a matte long-wearing liquid lipstick kind of girl and I avoid using them. I just don’t like them. I pretty much expected Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme to have the same formula as Amore Lip Creme and they are in fact pretty much a spot on formulation. It’s a thick, creamy textured lipstick with a slightly running texture that’s incredibly pigmented. The formulas are identical to each other but the finishes are different a bit. Amore Lip Creme isn’t a bad formula by any means but it is a very traditional matte one that has a lightweight feel on lips but it does tighten up slightly and leaves me feeling a tiny bit dry at times. I think Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme does have the better formula as it’s also weightless but as promised has a satin finish that feels a lot nicer on my lips than the matte version. It actually wipes off a little easier as well should you wish to remove and reapply it throughout the day where as the all matte version is a lot harder to remove without an oil-based remover. I call it a semi-permanent formula if that makes sense.
As you know I’m prone to drier lips and felt like the finish was smooth and the color didn’t fall into my natural lip lines nor adhere to drier areas on my lips. It also didn’t migrate once it set nor did it feather. The pigment is one of the best selling points as a single application gives full, opaque color. The formula does have a slightly fruity fragrance and flavor.
I still love Amore Shine Liquid Lip Colors best no doubt but Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme is a nice formula if you’re not really a matte lover. This formula felt a lot more comfortable to wear and I liked that it was easier to remove as well!

Where to buy
Milani Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme is a new Spring 2019 semi-long wearing liquid lipstick that has a satin finish which is available in 12 shade selections. The lipstick is 0.22 oz in size and has a flat sponge applicator for application. This formula is a lot like Milani’s Amore Lip Creme with a rich, creamy texture that’s every so slightly runny. The main difference between the two is the finish and the ease of removal. As per the name Amore Saint Matte Lip Cream is a satiny finish (not so much matte at all) and does have a fairly long wear of six hours however, it does wipe away a lot easier than the original formula for reapplication and feels a lot less drier. The pigment is outstanding with full opaque coverage on a single layer.
- Lightweight formula feels pleasant on lips without being dry.
- Very pigmented.
- Wears long but does remove easily for reapplication.
- Contains a mild fruity flavor and fragrance.
- Might be disappointing if you want a long-wearing liquid lipstick.
Milani Amore Satin Matte Lip Creme is an excellent pick if you aren’t a fan of traditional matte long-wearing lipsticks. This formula felt a lot less drier and still managed to look smooth and flawless even on my drier lips!
