Pixi Hydrating Milky Lotion ($24) is a new face and body moisturizer that launched with Pixi’s biggest SkinTreat’s Collection to date for Spring 2019 (seriously, they went above and beyond with the extension to their skincare).

I’m always a lover of multi-tasking moisturizers! Maybe I’m a one and done type a girl but moisturizers I can use on my face and my body are pretty darn awesome in my opinion! Especially if you travel as often as I do! Korea is legendary for coming out with formulas like this and I’ve featured quite a few in the past like Snoopy x Skinfood Royal Honey Good Moisturizing Cream which is rather fab!

I was fully prepared to make Pixi Hydrating Milky Lotion my new travel buddy!

Pixi Hydrating Milky Lotion is packaged in a 4.57 oz squeeze tube and contains some very nice hydrating ingredient such as coconut oil and shea butter. I’ve had sort of bad experiences with coconut oil on my face for some reason but I had no problems or sensitives to this formula. It does have a light fresh floral fragrance which I found pleasant and fragrance is the last possible ingredient on the list but it’s still there and deserves mentioning for those sensitive to it.

I love the idea of multitasking with this but it actually fails for me as a face moisturizer. It’s not something I’d be able to use in the day and even at night I wasn’t in love with. The formula is a lightweight cream that has a cool feel when I apply it to my body. Here’s where things are odd though…! First off I don’t experience that cooling sensation on my face just my body! Secondly, this formula absorbs in a snap when I apply it to my body but it feels a bit greasier on my face and leaves behind a film that doesn’t quite absorb fully into my skin. This sucks because it’s not ideal as a daily moisturizer to be worn under makeup. Even at night I wasn’t terribly comfortable with it. The other interesting thing is it actually feels very hydrating on my face but on my body it only provides lightweight moisture. I have drier skin (body and face) and my body requires something way more richer and hydrating than this. At $24, it’s a bit expensive for the light hydration it provides. It’s also a little small to use daily on your body. At 4.57 oz at $24 you might get three weeks out of it if you’re lucky using it daily on your body.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Lotion might be a dream product for some users but personally, it didn’t quite work out for me. It’s too greasy on my face and too light on my body. I love how easily it sinks in the skin on my body and the cool, fresh feel it brings with it which will make it a wonderful pick for Summer but I do wish it provided a bit more moisture for my drier skin. And yes, I’m a little disappointed it didn’t quite turn into the multitasking moisturizer of my dreams!

Anyone try it yet?

Where to buy

Target Pixi

Pixi Hydrating Milky Lotion is a new multitasking body and facial moisturizer that’s housed in a squeeze tube which is 4.57 oz in size and $24. This formula is a lightweight creamy lotion that has a subtle fresh floral fragrance. I had a nice cool, refreshing feel on my skin and absorbs very quickly however, as someone with drier skin I needed a bit more moisture than this provided. I didn’t enjoy it as much on my face as it felt a bit greasy and didn’t fully absorbs, instead laying atop of my skin in a rather uncomfortable way!

Aqua/Water/Eau, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Glycereth-26, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Isopropyl Myristate, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Avena Strigosa Seed Extract, Riboflavin, Dextrin, Lecithin, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Allantoin, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Betaine, Methyl Gluceth-20, Cetearyl Olivate, Cetyl Alcohol, Isoamyl Laurate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Sorbitan Olivate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Parfum/Fragrance.

Pros

  • Smells quite nice!
  • Contains some good hydrating ingredients such as coconut oil!
  • Absorbs quickly with a cool, fresh feel on your body!

Cons

  • Doesn’t work as great as a facial moisturizer. Felt greasy and didn’t fully absorb.
  • A little expensive for the size and the way it performs.
  • Better suited to those with normal or combination skin but not idea for drier skin!

Who

Pixi Hydrating Milky Lotion might be a great pick for anyone with normal or combination skin but those with drier might want to skip!
