Revlon Crystal Aura Glow Lip Oil ($9.99) is a new, limited edition fluid lip oil infused with rose quartz that launched with the Revlon Crystal Aura Makeup Collection for Spring 2019.

It’s been a little slow going in the drugstore makeup world lately but Revlon’s Crystal Aura Collection had some interesting items that I purchased when it was still very much available on Ulta’s website. Since the launch the collection has made its way to mass drugstores and is still pretty much available but it is limited edition so if you see it do grab the items you want before they disappear.

As for me I best hurry and grab a few more shades of Revlon Crystal Aura Glow Lip Oil as I’m really enjoying it. Although, the shade range isn’t huge! I think it’s three shades at most! The shade I got is a love! It’s called Pretty Wicked and it’s a delightful nude.

We’ve seen plenty of drugstore lip oils pass by us the last few years from Milani’s Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment to Hard Candy Blooming Lip Oil and of course, mid and higher-end brands have gotten in the act.

Revlon Crystal Aura Glow Lip Oil Swatches (Shade: Pretty Wicked)

Lip oils can be a weird formula to take on. Some are disappointingly lacking in moisture and others are moisturizing yet shorter in wear or sheerer in color. In the case, of Revlon’s Crystal Aura Glow Lip Oil they get a lot of good things right and some things a little wrong but I will say this is one of the better formulas I’ve tried.

First off, I love this packaging. This lip oil comes in an ombre lilac to nude circle barrel that holds 0.13 oz of product. At the moment, these are on sale at walgreens.com for Buy 1, Get 1 Free but the standard price seems to be ten dollars everywhere I see them! There’s a sponge-tipped applicator for application that saturates well with product and applies it smooth and flawless.

The texture is a runnier fluid consistency that isn’t oily or greasy but does have a nice shine once applied as well as some nice color that isn’t completely opaque but it is visible. There’s also a faint caramel vanilla flavor but I didn’t really detect a scent. It feels very pleasant on my lips with a light hydrating feel and a nice bit of shine. Like most lip oils I’ve tried it doesn’t wear very long and disappears within moments of application. If I get a half hour wear out of this I’m lucky! It just seems to slip away and disappear really quickly. It feels nice on my lips, a bit hydrating, but doesn’t really leave any lasting hydration behind nor does it provide any mega moisture.

It does disappoint in some ways but it is one of the nicer formulas I’ve used. It gives my lips a nice bit of color, good shine, and a bit of moisture. It could use an improvement with wear and of course, more moisture wouldn’t hurt but none the less I enjoyed it and I would consider grabbing a few more of these as I like the way they look on my lips!

Where to buy

Walgreens

Revlon Crystal Aura Glow Lip Oil is a new, lightweight fluid lip oil that has a runny consistency. This formula has a nice bit of color, shine, and with light hydration. It has a real short wear and does need to be reapply often. That was a sore point for me as was the lighter moisture the formula provided but the color and shine was beautiful and that might tempt makeup lovers to try it out!

Pros

  • Pretty color that isn’t too sheer!
  • Runny but looks smooth and flawless on lips with a hint of shine.

Cons

  • Provides very little moisture.
  • Very short wear.

Who

Revlon Crystal Aura Glow Lip Oil isn’t going to change your life in the moisture department but the subtle color and shine it provides might tempt those who like lighter lip, fresher lip formulas!

I haven’t tried the lip oils but I tried the eye shadow from this collection. It swatched really nice but was fallout city.

I have purchased Revlon Lip Glow in Deja vu 003 — a berry shade and I love it so much I went and purchased back ups. My lips look like I have just finished a popsicle and the I love the feel. Not too greasy and just enough color!
