5 stars out of 5

I picked up the new Nordstrom Exclusive Becca Afterglow Sunset Face Palette ($44) which I really didn’t need but still really wanted. I’m horrible because I have many of these blushes and highlighters in a full-size already but I wanted travel palette that held them all as this has some of my favorite shades. That’s my excuse for purchasing it and I’m sticking to it 🙂

The palette is a gorgeous rose gold metallic compact that’s elegant yet lightweight with a mirror inside. You get two blushes, two highlighters, and one bronzer. At 0.21 oz devided by four you get about 0.525 oz per shade. I really struggled with the price a little tiny bit as Shimmering Skin Perfectors are 0.25 oz each and $38 and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush are 0.2 oz and originally $34 in price (they are actually on sale currently for $17 and some folks have even found them cheaper at Marshalls, TJ Maxx). I was trying to wrap my head around the fact that a single blush or highlighter has more product and is priced cheaper. I mean, sure, there’s variety in this palette and I love that! Having five different shades in one palette is brilliant! But I’d have appreciate the price being a little lower you know?

All that being said I will say I did love this little palette. I’m not a highlighter girl by any means but Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter is where I say a big yes. I really love this formula! It’s has a velvety texture that blends perfectly on my face without being too frosty or adhering to drier areas. I love mixing it with my blush to create a perfect shimmering finish. This set includes the shades Crystal Gold and Champagne Pop.

Becca Luminous Blush is another of my favorite products. This includes the bright shade Snapdragon! This is pigmented with a subtle radiant finish that blends beautifully on my cheeks. You also get a Mineral Blush in Flowerchild which has a light, silky formula that blends easily on cheeks. I love combining both shades with a hint of Champagne Pop to create a pretty radiant glow on my cheeks. I’m wearing Snapdragon and Champagne Pop in my look below!

You also get Sunlit Bronzer in Capri Coast which is a very light, shimmering bronzer. You know me, I’m not a bronzer girl by any means but this is so light and subtle it created a little bit of warmth on my face but nothing muddy or orange! The formula was very lightweight and silky.

All in all, this is a little pricey. I don’t really think you need to purchase it unless you have money to splurge. I actually should not have purchased it myself since I have three of the five shades but I travel so often I don’t want to lug around individual pans. That might be one reason to purchase it for yourself! The other reason would be if you never tried Becca before or don’t have these shades it’s a nice starter palette!

Becca Afterglow Sunset Face Palette is available now exclusively at Nordstrom.

Where to buy

Nordstrom

Becca Afterglow Sunset Face Palette is a new Nordstrom exclusive palette that contains 2 highlighters, 1 bronzer, and 2 blushes. The palette is $44 and contains a total of 0.21 oz making it a bit expensive for what you get. This is not a must have for fan’s of the brand that have these shades already! It might tempt some who want a travel friendly version of full-size favs but the price might make you reconsider. It is a nice way for new users to experience a variety of Becca’s blushes, highlighters, and bronzers in one go! The formula was excellent overall, with excellent packaging. I just felt the price was a bit much for the amount you get.

Pros

  • Very nice selection of shades and variety of different powders (blush, bronzer, highlighter) in a travel friendly palette.
  • Excellent formula that’s easy to apply and blend.
  • Gorgeous luminous looks are easy to create with this palette!

Cons

  • Small amount of product for the price!
  • Not a must for those that already have these shades in a full-size.

Who

Those who haven’t tried a lot of Becca might like the Afterglow Sunset Face Palette however, the price is a bit high for what you get!

Are the blushes both coral? They look very similar in the swatch photo. Thanks!

    • Isabella Muse

snap dragon is a warm coral and flowerchild is a rosy pink with a bit of a golden undertone.

So you, and you travel for business and fun, do this is actually a wise purchase. Never guilt yourself.

  • Nadia

I’ve been eyeing this as well. I have another Becca palette with just 3 colors and I use it for everything! The bronzer is beautiful as an eye contour, the blushes I also use to dust my eyelids to make the look more cohesive and don’t forget to use the highlighters in the inner corner of your eyes- they are gorgeous there! I really find these pa lettes to be very useful. I’m still on the fence because I have way too much stuff- but I’m eyeing this so HARD.

    • Isabella Muse

You’re right about the bronzer! It’s perfect on eyes ;-D I like having all the shades in one spot as well! It makes for easy travel!

  • Liz

It is kinda pricey, but I like the variety and that it’s not made in China. They picked pretty blushes and I prefer having more variety and less product. When you have a lot of makeup, you tend not to use up products anyway. Helpful review.

    • Isabella Muse

I agree about having variety vs a single shade at retail price! But I do wish it was a little lower! It feels more $35ish! Thank you!

  • Marinda

Heads up, I just found this at TJ Maxx today for $19.99! No clue how it got there but I snatched it up so fast. I almost bought it from Nordstrom a few weeks ago and I’m so glad I didn’t!

    • Isabella Muse

are you sure it isn’t last year’s Afterglow palette? There are actually two! 🙂

      • Marinda

It’s definitely the Afterglow Sunset palette, not last year’s palette. Same box, packaging and shades as the one you posted!

        • Isabella Muse

crazeeee! I thought it might be last year’s version! wow! great deal!

  • Layla

Nooo, don’t go buy it at full price! I just bought this at TJMaxx for $19.99! There were four palettes at my store. You might be able to snag one if you keep looking.

    • Isabella Muse

I doubt it is this one. Maybe it’s the old Afterglow palette from last year? As this literally launched! Sadly, I already purchased it as you can see in the pics so even if they do have it at TJs I already have it :-/ sad sigh! oh well!

      • Layla

I couldn’t find a Becca batch checker, but the code on mine from TJs is 9101A. It’s the same shades as yours. I’m thinking this might be a little like the Subculture batches. It might differ in pigments, but that’s just my thoughts. I’ll swatch it against my full sized products when I’m home!

  • GD

Hi, I also bought this exact, yes exact, palette at TJ Maxx for a discounted price. I was hoping for the older palette as I have these two blushes in full shades, but good to know that I can find more recent products at TJ Maxx.

    • Isabella Muse

I was shocked to hear it. I couldn’t believe I spent so much at Nordstrom! Glad you scored a deal ;-D
