Sir John x Luminess Cosmetics Can’t Wait To Be Queen Eyeshadow Palette ($42) is a new, limited edition Disney the Lion King inspired palette that contains nine gorgeous eyeshadows. Sir John is a Global Makeup Artist that’s worked with the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and also, celebrities like Chrissy Teigen but he is probably best known as Beyoncé’s personal makeup artist. Yup, Sir John is the one guilty for making Beyoncé look amazing.

He recently teamed up with Luminess Cosmetics to create an entire makeup collection inspired by the new live action remake of the Lion King. Along with the Sir John x Luminess Disney The Lion King Can’t Wait To Be Queen Eyeshadow Palette the collection includes lipsticks, a bronzer palette, and more.

I was most drawn to the eyeshadow palette and purchased it immediately when it launched.

Sir John x Luminess Disney The Lion King Can’t Wait To Be Queen Eyeshadow Palette is probably one of the most satisfying eyeshadow palette experiences and purchases I’ve had in a while. This is a palette I can see myself using daily and hitting pan on because it’s such a versatile selection of shades but also, because the formula is fantastic. I’m pretty sad is limited edition. I think it’s one of the nicest Disney collaborations I’ve seen in a long, long time. I think sometimes Disney makeup collaborations can be juvenile but this palette is really quite sophisticated and chic!

The palette comes housed in a gorgeous rose gold compact with a generously sized mirror tucked inside and nine eyeshadow that are 0.057 oz each. The front face panel featuring a very fierce teenage Simba. It’s a very elegant packaging that comes housed in a gorgeous black box that also features Simba’s face as an adult with his mane fully grown in. The eyeshadows are satin, shimmer, and matte finish with each having a name that’s printed below the well inside the palette.

The mattes are all soft, silky, and easy to blend with a nice firmness that isn’t dry and doesn’t kick up a ton of powder. The satins are very soft, velvety and equally easy to blend but they do have some fall out during application. The shimmers are a bit more loosely packed compared to the other shades but still apply quite easily! I felt they were best applied with my finger and patted gently on since they do have a good deal of fall out when using a brush for application. All the shades had incredible pigmentation and wore well without fading or creasing on my drier eyes. I was very impressed with the formula overall and felt the palette was a cohesive assortment of shades that worked well together to create a variety of different looks.

It’s weird because there’s a lot of browns and nudes here but I still felt like I could create dozens of unique looks using the palette. It’s such a great palette for Summer but it’ll work well into Fall and it’s very work friendly.

Sir John x Luminess Disney The Lion King Can’t Wait To Be Queen Eyeshadow Palette is well worth picking up! Don’t sit this one out.

Sir John x Luminess Disney The Lion King Can’t Wait To Be Queen Eyeshadow Palette is a new, limited edition palette that’s $42 which contains nine eyeshadows that are 0.057 oz for a total weight of 0.68 oz. This is a nude, natural eye palette with a good deal of browns, golds, and nude shades however, there is a pop of blue, green, and purple. The shadows have satin, matte, and shimmer finishes. I was very, very happy with the performance overall, on the eyeshadows! They apply and blend easily and have a soft, buttery texture that wasn’t powdery or dry. Had to google this MUA, though I knew he was Beyonce’s. Could not believe his given birth name was actually Sir John. Thought it was a stage name. He does have talent.
