Summer Makeup and Beauty Haul from Walmart

I was compensated by a brand or company but all thoughts and opinions are my own and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Last month, I partnered with Walmart to bring a selection of My Beauty and Makeup Essentials to you. At the time they asked me to partner and collaborate with them to tell my readers about their “Here for Every Beauty” campaign that celebrates over 327 different million faces that make up America. This is a paid sponsorship with them however, the thoughts and opinion I’m sharing are all my own. I selected to do the campaign because I truly believe that beauty is all inclusive and I’m happy to support a brand or in this case a store that also, feels that way.

I’ve always be of the belief that makeup and beauty is about all races, all sexes, ages, and sizes. Beauty is a world I’ve always felt comfortable and welcome in even though much of the marketing isn’t exactly targeted towards me. Why not? Because I’m short, I’m round, I’m geeky, goofy, clumsy, and just an all around nerd (I also think I’m rather hysterical but I’m probably not!). I’m not a model, I’m not 110 pounds, I don’t have cheek bones for days, I am not perfect yet I’m still felt pretty at home in the world of makeup because I can be whoever I want to be in it. I’ve never felt limited to how I can express myself using makeup and I like that the industry is finally catching up and starting to target people just like me.

The beauty world should never hinder any of us or make us feel excluded. It’s somewhere I feel like we can all dive into and enjoy no matter who we are. I’m glad that in the last few years, that the beauty world has opened further for many of us. More foundation choices, more models that aren’t perfect advertising products, both woman and man being represented in marketing, it really is a new and better frontier than ever before.

This is why I really love that Walmart is promoting a better makeup world with their Here for Every Beauty campaign. Because we should all feel positive and supported in the beauty world no matter who we are.

I did a recent Summer Makeup and Beauty Haul at Walmart and I thought I’d try some new items. Gasp! New!? What? Something I never tried before? How is that even possible for a beauty junkie? Believe me it was actually pretty easy to discover a few items I haven’t yet tried by following the #HereForEveryBeauty tag on Instagram. I just starting browsing the hashtag and seeing what everyone else was loving and I was surprised to see how many products people featured that I never tried. So, I made it my mission to not head into this haul purchasing stuff I already tried. I went outside my comfort zone and decided I try stuff I never thought to try before like dry shampoo. Believe me I typically wouldn’t touch dry shampoo with a ten foot pole because I’m that girl that has to wash her hair everyday even though that’s against some sort of hair rules. Sorry! I don’t feel clean if I don’t wash my hair everyday! Eep! But yup, I decided this Summer would be the Summer I tried dry shampoo!

Let’s see what I hauled!

It’s Summer which means a lot of pool time and a lot of hair problems because chlorine is a cruel goddess! My hair is fairly dry but put me in a pool and throw in some hot, humid weather and you got yourself some straw hair. Not good. Everyone on Instagram was talking about It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner Product and I never tried this so, I grabbed it up in the hopes it was as great as everyone was raving. I love leave-in conditioners which made this an easy pick! I actually like this a lot. It was created for dry, damaged hair and provides lightweight moisture that doesn’t cause build up. All you have to do is wash and conditioner your hair, dry with a towel, and mist a bit of this into your hair. Sometimes on the weekend after being in the pool we’ll head out for dinner so, I’ll just rinse my hair with cold water, dry it with a towel, mist this in, and comb through and go! It detangles and adds nice light moisture to my hair so as it air dries it doesn’t turn into straw!

Drum roll please! I also snagged some Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Tropical Fragrance! I am not a big dry shampoo fan girl because I tend to wash my hair twice a week and co-wash three times a week. I just can’t go into the shower without doing something to my hair. So, dry shampoo, that’s a big step for me. I loved this smelled! It’s all tropical vanilla yummy! But I don’t like using it to be honest! I tried going without washing my hair on Monday morning and just spraying some of this in and my hair just wasn’t having any of it. I looked like a poodle all day! So, I improvised a little with this and ended up liking it. After work I typically head out with friends or my boyfriend for dinner, a movie, or some other activity. I take down my hair before heading out and I mist some of this in and fluff it up. Not only does it refresh my hair because its been up in a bun all day but it also leaves it smelling quite nice! I like using it like this. It works a treat! Try it, you might like it!

Speaking of Summer hair products! SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner is a fav of mine! It smells just like a warm Tropical day! Sweet, slightly fruity, coconut and hibiscus gives your hair a gorgeous tropical scent! Plus they are sulfate-free! A great pick for Summer!

I never really talk hair but I felt like trying a few new products during this haul and hair is def a topic I don’t dry enough new things in!

But you’re here for the makeup right?

I have a few favs this Summer.

I just reviewed the new Maybelline Dream Urban Cover Flawless Coverage Foundation I just reviewed is amazing! Perfect Summer foundation in my opinion as it’s extremely lightweight, breathable, and oh so natural looking. This stuff is my skin but better in a tube! It’s new and available at Walmart cheaper than anywhere else at $10.98 (compared to competitors at $13.99). This is very worth a pick up if you like natural, sheerer foundation!

I’m also loving the new Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss! Revlon has a lot of different formulas but this is one of my favorites to date. It’s thick but not sticky nor tacky with a nice sheer hint of color and a long-wear! It also feels quite hydrating on my lips. I have a review upcoming on these so stay tuned!

I also reviewed the Maybelline Matte Bar Eyeshadow Palette I purchased a few months and I’ve hauled it out for Summer looks because it is so freaking simple to get a great look from this palette in a few steps. I love these warmer shades for quickie Summer looks! You can snag it for $9 bucks at Walmart! It’s well worth being apart of your Summer haul!

Speaking of eyeshadow palettes the new Covergirl Her Majesty Eyeshadow Palette Collection is incredible. There are four palettes available each of which contains 12 creamy eyeshadows. The Revolution Eyeshadow Palette is an ideal pick for Summer as it contains some heated, sizzling shades perfect for the warm weather!

Summer skincare for me is always really light and simple. I tend to get a bit oily in the Summer and don’t need as much moisture as I typically would. Sometimes I even skip moisturizer in the morning and just do a quickie face mist after my shower followed by my SPF after it dries! Face mists have become pretty standard at the drugstore lately with many affordable options available like Garnier SkinActive Soothing Facial Mist.

Speaking of light and simple sometimes when I get out of the pool I just wash my face, moisturize and go. One of my latest moisturizer favs is L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Moisturizer. This was recommended to me by many of you! It’s actually really great if you’re doing a no makeup and go look because it gives you that fresh just washed my face look with a nice lightweight, quick absorbing formula!

Have you done any recent Summer makeup and beauty hauls?

Have you tried any of the items I picked up?

FYI, Baptiste comes in a brunette tinted formula. I have dark hair too and found that the original was hard to brush out and looked ashy – since my hair is straight, it really showed. The brunette is perfect, though.
