4 stars out of 5

Too Faced Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette ($42) is a new breakaway palette that has been added to the Tutti Frutti Makeup Collection which is available exclusively at Ulta. I’m actually a fan of the Tutti Frutti line and dare I say I like it a little more than the Peaches & Cream one that’s available exclusively at Sephora. This palette released just around the time that the new Palm Spring Dreams Eyeshadow Palette was added to Sephora’s Peaches & Cream Collection. Both are great palettes and well worth picking up! I do find it interesting though how Ulta and Sephora are in such direct competition with each other lately.

As I said above, I really like the Tutti Frutti Collection! The Cocktail Blush Duos are my favorite from the line! Did you catch the new Like My Melons? shade? It’s very pretty! I’m mentioning this because I actually purchased the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette because I was loving the blush shade in this palette that’s called Melonaire (oh Jerrod please stop with all the money references). It’s a really vibrant shade of watermelon pink! Very pretty.

Anyway, let’s take a closer look at the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette and my review below.

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette is adorable to say the least. The palette is shaped like a large slice of watermelon and is held together in the center with a magnet. The magnet easily allows you to break apart the palette into smaller watermelon slices 🙂 One slice holds a blush, highlighter, and bronzer and the other slice holds eight eyeshadows. Both slices have a mirror. The palette is Made in China and does have a very, very strong cucumber watermelon fragrance that might be upsetting for sensitive users. The eyeshadows are 0.282 oz each, the highlighter is 0.077 oz, the bronzer is 0.084 oz, and the blush is 0.063 oz for a total of 0.49 oz of product at $42.

I was little surprised the palette was made in China as the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Sparkling Pineapple Eyeshadow Palette and Tutti Frutti Razzle Dazzle Berry Eyeshadow Palette were both made in France.

I had a great time with this palette. Sometimes makeup isn’t as fun for me as it used to be. I really like when I come across palettes like this that make me remember why I love playing with makeup so much. It’s just fun! The packaging, the colors, it’s all a really pretty and fun.

As I said above there are eight shades here four of which are soft, silky mattes that weren’t powdery and blended nicely. There are also two loosely packed sparkly shades called Melon Dollar Baby and Loosey Juicy. Both of these did have a good deal of kick up because they are more of a loose, chunkier texture but I didn’t have fall out thankfully when I applied them. They are best applied over eyeshadow though as a topper since they apply sheerer. Lastly, there are two soft, velvety satin shades that applied and blended well with no fall put issues. All in all, the shades all performed well. I do wish they left out So Seedy as the shade is a darker matte that best works for me as a liner and I feel like I won’t use as much as the others. I do think the formula and quality was better in the Palm Spring Eyeshadow Palette but these aren’t as awful as you’d expect.

The real stars of the show are the face powders though. All three were formulated beautifully. The blush has a soft, silky formula with excellent pigmentation that applies and blends well. The highlighter and bronzer have a soft, velvety texture that applied equally well. I think the bronzer, even though I’m not a bronzer girl, was a real showstopper with the beautiful golden undertone that added beautiful warmth with a nice sheen.

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette is worth a pick up if you’re in the mood for some Summery shades still. I know Fall is on the horizon but there’s still a little bit of Summer left and this palette will bring it to your face and eyes 🙂

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette is available now exclusively at Ulta.

Where to buy

Ulta

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette is a new palette that was added to the Tutti Frutti Makeup Collection for Summer 2019 that’s available exclusively at Ulta. The palette contains eight eyeshadows, bronzer, blush, and highlighter for $42. I had fun with this palette! I think the face powders are the stand our pieces here. All of them were pigmented, easy to apply, and blend and they wore well on my face for a good eight hours without fading. The shadows were a hit and miss situation. The mattes were soft and silky without a ton of powdery kick up and the satins were equally lovely however, the two chunkier sparkle shades applied sheerer and applied best with a finger. None the less, I was still able to create really pretty eye looks using these shades!

Pros

  • Cute packaging.
  • Beautifully formulated face powders with excellent application, pigment, and wear.
  • Fun shades!

Cons

  • Made in China.
  • Strong fragrance of cucumber and watermelon.
  • Some fall out with the sparkle shades.
  • Sparkly shades were loosely packed and sheerer.

Thanks for your wonderful review. Made in China is hard no from me, unknown supply chains and toxic products galore. Disappointed with Too Faced, the other Tutti Frutti compacts were fabulous quality and manufactured in France, known for stringent controls in everything they do.

My pleasure my dear! I totally understand! You aren’t alone in that! A lot of folks are very wary of anything made in China!
