Colourpop Call Me On My Shellphone Review & Swatches
I picked up the new Colourpop Call Me On My Shellphone Super Shock Shadow Trio ($15) because I’m slowly become re-addicted to Colourpop. For a while, I was like, “New Colourpop? Meh!” now when they do new collections I’m the first in line to buy all the new, shiny things. I’m not yet tired of their overwhelming amount of releases. I mean, they are doing a total Too Faced/Tarte thing at the moment where they have new eyeshadow palette coming out three to four times a month. It’s a pretty insane schedule they keep over there! So far, I’m not terribly annoyed by this because 1. there prices are cheap as chips and 2. I’m feeling the love for a lot of the shades and products they release. I’m sure at some point I’ll grow bored but so far, everything they have recently introduced, I’ve been really digging.
The Call Me On My Shellphone Trio (Do you love that corny name or what? Made me laugh!) contains three full-size shades of Super Shock Eyeshadow in sparkly browns, taupes, and golds! All colors I love so, yup, it came home with me.
Here’s my review and swatches!
If you’re fond fan of taupes and chocolate-y browns this the Colourpop Call Me On My Shellphone Super Shock Shadow Trio is one for you! You do get a tiny bit of a discount when ordering this set as typically full-size Super Shock Shadows are $6 each and this set contains three for a total of $15 versus $18 when purchased individually. Each one is 0.07 oz in size and comes housed in limited edition beige pots versus the more traditional white pots Colourpop uses.
The shades you get are:
- Peekaboo (sheer ivory with silver sparkle)
- A Little Quarky (light taupe with silver sparkle)
- Deep Dive (deep bronze brown with gold sparkle)
The set can be used together to create a look or shades can be used individually. I find all three shades work well together to create a single look! You can apply Peekaboo as a base shade or a highlighter, use A Little Quarky on the inner lid, and contrast on the outer lid with Deep Dive. The shades jive together well! Compared to other Supershock Shadows I own these ran a tiny bit sheerer with Peekaboo being the sheerest and Deep Dive being the most pigmented. All the shades build very easily and apply and blend just as easily with very little effort. I always find fingers are the best application tool here since the shades soft texture that apply and blend as a cream eyeshadow would. These do set to a more powder formula with absolutely no fall out issues even though they contain quite a bit of sparkle.
If you never tried a Colourpop Eyeshadow they have a soft, almost clay-like texture that’s squishy and creamy to the touch. They are super easy to apply in my opinion and wear very well. The entire application process is simple and within a few touches you’ll have a flawless eye look!
As I said above, I think the shades are great in this set! They really do remind me of coconuts which is what the collection is inspired by!
All in all, worth a pick up if you like shades like this.
Where to buy
Colourpop Call Me On My Shellphone Super Shock Shadow Trio is a new set that’s $15 and contains three full-size eyeshadows inspired by coconuts. I loved this set! The shade range was right in my wheel house with soft gold, taupe, and a deep brown shade that all worked together well or as individually shades! The colors all have a soft, creamy texture that was best applied and blended with fingers. All the shades had a very pretty sparkly finish and ranged in pigment from sheerer to deeper but easily built for more intensity. All three shades performed well on my drier lids without creasing, fading, or fall put!
- Excellent shade range.
- Affordable.
- Easy to apply creamy texture.
- Some sheerness on lighter shades but did build well!
Colourpop Call Me On My Shellphone Super Shock Shadow Trio is a perfect pick for lovers of taupes and browns!
