Too Faced Hangover Wash the Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser ($24) is a new foaming facial cleanser that acts to cleanse skin while removing dirt and oil from pores. Too Faced Skincare is a thing now isn’t it? Night cream, cleanser, serums, they are totally doing a Tarte on us with all these new skincare launches! I suspect an eye cream is in their near future! Don’t get me wrong both Tarte and Too Faced have some pretty great Spring 2020 launches in the works but I guess they also, think now is a good time to strike while the iron is hot and cash in on the skincare category as well!

I decided to dive into Too Faced Skincare head first without any prior research. Why not? I had a coupon so that always helps things along.

That’s how my purchase of Too Faced Hangover Wash the Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser came about.

Too Faced Hangover Wash the Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser arrives in a squeeze tube and holds 4.23 oz of cleanser for $24. Not the cheapest option around in the world of foaming cleansers but like I said above I had a coupon that shaved off a few bucks. That being said I would recommend buying this on sale and not at the full price simply because the Korean and Japanese beauty world is FILLED to the brim with excellent foaming cleansers that are $5-$10.

I was indeed curious enough to purchase this but I really should have known better. Of course, like most cleansers Too Faced Hangover Wash the Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser is hyped up to the max. According to the brand it contains hyaluronic acid and contains an aromatherapy scent to lift your mood.

One of the most interesting things about the formula is creates foam and tons of it without the use of sulfate lauryl. Instead it uses a coconut derivative to create the foaming effect. I typically don’t do well with coconut and this does contain coconut but thankfully enough I didn’t experience any breakouts or itchiness.

All in all, the formula isn’t formulated badly. It contains some excellent ingredients aside from fragrance which may or may not be an issue for sensitive users. The fragrance is a very pleasant fresh scent but I wouldn’t say it lifted my spirits or mood. It’s just a basic fresh scent. I was pleasantly surprised by the ingredients overall however, a little disappointed that Sodium Hyaluronate was so low on the list.

That being said, I still do think this is pretty much a basic cleanser. I don’t think you’re going to come out of the experience with less lines, glowing skin, or have your pores completely de-gunked. The texture is light and creamy and works into a lather very easily with water. It rinses away makeup easily and leaves skin feeling squeaky clean! It works excellent with my Clarisonic as well. I felt like it did a very good job removing makeup but I have my doubts it’ll whisk away dirt and oil from pores. Also a plus is the fact it didn’t leave me feeling tight or dry after use. I don’t know the actual pH on this formula but obviously Too Faced has done the homework in this area because it wasn’t drying in the least! It was also fairly gentle on my eyes with no stinging.

I think for me that price is the big deciding factor with Too Faced Hangover Wash the Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser. It’s a very good cleanser that leaves skin very clean without stripping but the $24 price tag sort of makes me meh when I know I can get something cheaper from a Korean or Japanese brand that will perform just as well!

All in all though, Too Faced Hangover Wash the Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser has some perks but the price might not quite be right for everyone.

Too Faced Hangover Wash the Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser is a new, permanent foaming cleanser that’s 4.23 oz in size and $24 which launched for Spring 2020. This formula is light, creamy, works into a lather very easily, rinses clean away, and has a light, fresh fragrance. It washes my face very well and leaves it squeaky clean after use. It did well removing my makeup without stripping or drying my skin out! I am skeptical it’ll remove dirt and oil from pores completely but it did an excellent job breaking down makeup and removing it easily. The ingredients are quite well formulated aside from a small amount of lime (and fragrance). But overall, at this price, it is a basic foaming cleanser.

You married me to the Cosrx low pH, and I doubt I will ever cheat. The C milky first cleanse is pretty meh, though. tf definitely is Tarting it up, hardly a surprise.
