Maybelline Lifter Gloss & Color Strike Cream-to-Powder Eye Shadow for Summer 2020
Maybelline Summer 2020 has arrived with two new offerings that are available online but I’m unsure when we’ll see them in drugstores. This morning, I was musing Color Whisper Lipsitck on Instagram. Who remembers those? I always get a little nostalgic for past collections when new ones launch! Another reason I found myself reminiscing was because the new Color Strike Cream-to_Powder Eyeshadow really brought back days of old. Several hundred years ago a lot of brands were doing these quick swipe eyeshadows! Remember Victorias Secret Beauty Rush Sparkling and Luminous Eyeshadow? They are pretty much the same concept as these new Maybelline eyeshadows.
These can be fun when you wanna do a quick look on the run but if you’re wanting to get in more definition and contrast in your look you’ll find these won’t deliver. These are great for those easy one swipe and done looks for sure though.
Maybelline released them in ten shades and colors are $6.99 each. As with many new Maybelline launches Amazon is the first to get these in stock. Amazon tends to get a lot of Maybelline’s newest launches lately. I find it both annoying and convenient. Right now it’s convenient because it’s not like I want to go to the drugstore to buy makeup! But honestly, I miss just shopping at the drugstore for makeup ya know? It’s been really annoying how brands release certain products on certain websites. It feels like an Easter Egg Hunt to locate items.
Maybelline Lifter Gloss Lip Gloss is also a new Summer 2020 launch and may be familiar to those who recall it made an appearance on Christian Siriano’s Fall/Winter 2020 runway. The makeup artist for the show, Erin Parsons, used one of these new glosses on top of SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick. At the time I was all, “Honey! You need gloss on top of that soul sucking liquid lipstick!” I hate the Matte Ink formula with a passion! Maybe Lifter Gloss will make it more wearable.
Lifter Gloss is not yet available for retail but it’ll be available in ten shades. You can’t tell by the photo but these have a larger applicator which may mean excellent application. I always like the larger sponge applicators as they saturate well with gloss. This formula visibly plumps and smooths lines thanks to Hyaluronic Acid. The packaging is giving me Patrick Tab vibes in a major way. No launch date has been set for these yet but I suspect we’ll see them soon!
What do you think of these early Maybelline Summer 2020 launches?
Any you’ll pick up?
