Sephora Weekend Warrior Tone Up Cream Please Be Like the CC Cushion

Sephora Weekend Warrior Tone Up Cream caught my attention today and I thought to myself what if this is somehow as wonderful as the old Wonderful Cushion Foundation! Ok, here me out. It’s not a cushion makeup obviously but the lightweight cream formula with sheer coverage does make it sound like it might be as lovely as Wonderful Cushion Foundation! I’m probably just missing the cushion so much at the moment that maybe I need a pick me up to lessen the feels from losing Wonderful Cushion.

This is a lightweight, sheer cream formula that brightens skin while providing a sheer veil of of color. It sounds like a tinted moisturizer of sorts which I’m fine with. Unlike youTubers I do not apply foundation with a paint roller. Seriously, I watch youTube videos and mentally cringe because although the finished result is amazing to get to that end game it seems like they use an entire bottle of foundation. I think Nikkietutorials is darling but is it me or does she use A LOT of foundation? She looks flawless after but I can’t help but think if I met this lovely girl in person is her makeup caked on three inches thick!? I personally don’t wear that much foundation. I am def heavy with concealer under my eyes but I even sheer that out. I don’t even apply foundation on my forehead. I’m probably totally weird for doing that but typically foundation is applied to the sides of my nose and I blend it outward. And it’s a few dots at best. I’m not trashing Nikkie by the way! It’s just I don’t do my foundation the way she does.

Anyway, I do tend to migrate towards sheerer coverage. I have empty cushion compacts. You can buy these from a lot of different Korean and Asian stores online (or off if you live around a heavily populated Asian community like Flushing) or even off ebay.com! I planned on trying out Weekend Warrior Tone Up Cream in one of those empty compacts and see if I can relive the awesomeness that was Wonderful Cushion!

Wish me luck!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. No spf, so no chemical spf, yay. Sounds good, and it’s cheap enough that you can get 2 colors and cocktail. You did bring up a crucial problem here, though…. How to do heavier concealer without having to do major foundation….? ps I love my KGD cushion, too.

lots and lots of eye cream. I make sure my eyes are superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr hydrated before applying thicker layers of concealer. Makes it look natural and it sheers it out as well!

Thanks for this! I think I’m heading over to Sephora.com to give this a try. I’m always on the hunt for a good light foundation. Oh – and I don’t use foundation on my forehead either! My intent with foundation is more of a coverup (uneven skin tone) without using concealer on most of my face. When I’ve used foundation on my forehead, all I saw were pours…plus I don’t need foundation there anyway! It’s my cheeks that are really uneven and damaged due to my teen years of breakouts. Can’t wait to give this a try!

Kevyn Aucoin’s new skin tint is AMAZING. I only wish is smelled a bit better; I find it has a strange smell. But it doesn’t linger and the formula is perfect for summer. But I too, was a Wonderful Cushion fan, so I’m definitely picking this one up.

I wonder if this is the same thing as their tinted moisturizer (named differently). I notice the packaging is the exact same thing just with a different name. If it’s the same, then I would say its a meh for me. It’s a true very very very lightweight sheer tint, and its almost like I didn’t use it at all. Maybe the formula is better on this one, either way…i still want it!

They also recently overhauled their Sephora Collection brushes to consolidate to 30 brushes. Got rid of some and kept the rest, now with a black ferule instead of the silver. I feel like they are trying to consolidate, reinvent and increase their brand presence.

Oops I forgot to add, that I just noticed their tinted moisturizer is not longer offered on their website so maybe this is the replacement 🙂

Ok sorry one more thing, try the Tarte tinted moisturizer. I’m loving it so far!

I feel the same way about foundation! I can’t do a heavy layer and sometimes I skip it on my forehead too.
