Let’s Hope The Bath and Body Works Keeps Sunset Glow Around a Really Long Time
Bath and Body Works Sunset Glow is a late Summer 2020 fragrance released that just needs to stay around forever. I really hope they decide to make this a permanent scent because it’s really perfect. Sometimes Bath and Body Works does these one of scents. You know what I mean right? Those scents that don’t really belong to a collection nor do they follow a theme of a new floor set that they do. It’s just a one off scent that they release from time to time. This is why I think and I hope that Bath and Body Works Sunset Glow will stick around as it’s a one offer. It popped up late this Summer but didn’t really join a themed collection! It wasn’t even really super heavily promoted either. But it’s perfect and it needs to stay around because this is what I was hoping Black Cherry Merlot would smell like when it was released as a fragrance.
Black Cherry Merlot smells like kindergarten! Remember those fruit punch and cookie days? I do. When I first smelled Black Cherry Merlot Hand Soap it instantly brought me back to my five year old self sitting at a table enjoying sugary sweet fruit punch and oreo cookies during snack time with my friends.
The scent was such a hit as a hand soap it later become a candle (I can’t with this one! It gives me a bad headache!), a hand cream, and more recently an entire body collection including a fragrance mist. It’s just a really tart, beautiful cherry and I had hopes that the fragrance mist would be like that but it’s actually a good deal more subtle than the hand soap and doesn’t quite smell like that cherry fruit punch-y sweetness that I love so much from the hand soap.
In enters, Sunset Glow and it’s so Cherry Merlot with a spin! This is a mix of sparkling cherry seltzer, coconut and moonflower according to Bath and Body Works. On me it’s all Black Cherry Merlot with a sparkling little twist. I don’t really get coconut and I’ll admit I’m not sure what moonflower smells like so, I’m not really picking up any floral note. It’s sweet, sugary, sparkling and it isn’t quite spot on Black Cherry Merlot but it sure as hell is very close.
It’s also quite strong. You know how fragrance mists are! A few hits and they disappear within and hour or two. But this has a nice lasting throw!
All in all, Bath and Body Works Sunset Glow earns a Muse Approval. This one I’d stockpile!
Loves it!
