Bath and Body Works Sweet Whiskey Fine Fragrance Mist has arrived for Fall 2020 and I’m wondering if this will stick around for a while. I sure hope so because it smells amazing. I’m in love. I didn’t know what to expect from this scent and a lot of people kept mentioning they had hopes it would smell like Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon which was exciting as I love that fragrance. But it does not. It’s completely different very unique and has a touch off sweetness that threw me for a curve ball.
Bath and Body Works Sweet Whiskey Fine Fragrance Mist contains notes of golden amber, vanilla whiskey and red berries and weirdly enough you can actually smell each of those notes. Sometimes notes are a hard thing for pick apart. It’s difficult to mist a fragrance on identity exactly what you are smelling! Or at least that’s the case for me. Should you blindfold me, mist me with a perfume, and ask me to tell you what I am smelling I’ll probably be way off on what I’m smelling. Sweet Whiskey is interesting because you can really smell all the notes involved in this scent.
I thought it would end up smelling boozy or even warm and masculine. I love masculine scents as you know from reading some of my past reviews like Boyfriend! There’s nothing masculine about this.
At first mist you get such a beautiful burst of sweet red berries that almost have a touch of apple to them. As the mist settles onto skin you’ll get a slight boozy note in the background with a healthy dose of warm, sweet vanilla followed by more warmth from a touch of amber. There’s warmth here but the sweetness of the berries and vanilla dominate the fragrance and give it a more playful, lighter edge than I was expecting. Does it smell like Fall? Yes, on some level it does have that warm, cozy vibe of Fall even though it’s a sweeter gourmand. I wanna bath in this. It smells so good! The berries really add a beautiful element to the overall fragrance!
I will say it might disappoint someone who was craving a sophisticated fragrance! The name implies it’s going to be some sort of elegant gourmand with depth and darkness. But in reality, it’s a lot sweeter and lighter than the name implies. Which I’m fine with! I think it’s a really nice fragrance that I want to buy backups of just in case Bath and Body Works decides to axe it once they head into their big Holiday launches.
All in all, Bath and Body Works Sweet Whiskey is a pleasant gourmand if you love sweet vanilla fragrances!
Love this one!
