UPS Shipping Limits Set from 5 Major Retailers May Delay Christmas Gifts
The Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are setting in and UPS shipping limits have been reached and shipments are now being stopped. According to news outlets UPS has stopped picking up packages from LL Bean, Hot Topic, Newegg (people still shop at Newegg??!), and Macy’s. According to the Wall Street Journal UPS workers confirmed this information and said there would be no exceptions the load was less and packages were delivered before no pick ups would happen.
One thing I noticed this year was Cyber Monday was just one day. Some stores extended by a day but more stores didn’t extend the event into a week long cyber sales event. Last year it seemed like after Cyber Monday the sales were still coming fast and furious this year not so much. I already got a shipping notice from two different places one of which was Ulta stating my packaged was delayed. They gave me a tracking number but it obviously isn’t working because the package wasn’t yet picked up by UPS. How long this shipping limit will last is anyone’s guess. Obviously, more people are shopping online due to COVID so this has really overloaded stores and of course, delivery services like UPS and Fedex. I think on the upside it’s good news that there are a lot of different shipping options available for example Sephora often useses Lasership!
I hope that they catch up on shipments soon and everyone gets their gifts on time. Until that time we may see retailers low their roll as they struggle not only what keeping their employees safe but also, having to worry about shipment delays and irate customers who aren’t always understanding about gifts not arriving in time.
Did you get any shipping delay notices?
