Lush Ectoplasm Body Spray Review

5 stars out of 5

It’s not Halloween but Lush Ectoplasm Body Spray is one of several new fragrances that launched on the Lush US which were previously available in the UK back in December. Yes, I am a little addicted to these damn body sprays and feel the need to collect them all and if you haven’t tried Let the Good Times Roll yet well, we can’t be friends anymore. Contract terminated.

Just kidding! But Let the Good Times Roll is the sh1t just sayin’!

Lush Ectoplasm was originally a Halloween Shower Gel. I believe they launched it back in 2018 and I think it’s come back ever after that for the past few Halloweens as I recall. I know, I’m bad! I don’t really pay too much attention to Lush Seasonal Collections lately because I have SO MUCH bath and shower stuff to get through!

Out of all the Lush fragrances I didn’t think Ectoplasm would be turned into a fragrance mist for the Spring 2021 line but hey, I’m all about it because it smells amazing!

Lush Ectoplasm Body Spray may be a Halloween LE scent but it’s perfect for Spring and Summer wearing. I happen to be a person that wakes up at stupid o’clock on the daily. During the week it’s typically 4:30 or 4:45AM so I can get my workout in and start blog stuff before sitting down to work with my real job. I also wake up early on the weekends but it’s typically around 5ish or 5:30. Ironically I am NOT A MORNING PERSON! I really have to drag myself out of the bed. I’m a complete night owl but mornings are just ughhhhhh! This scent is great for people like me as it’s so zesty and uplifting! It’ll give you a little boost in the AM when you mist it on!

The first mist smells like that first peel of an orange! You know that slight bitterness you get from the peel when you first starting opening an orange? That’s what this smells like! As it settles down it sweetens up and you get a sweet tangerine note combined with a the tartness of a grapefruit. It’s delicious! It smells like breakfast!

The only thing spooky thing about this body spray is its ability to uplift spirits and boost moods. Litsea cubeba, tangerine and grapefruit oils blend beautifully together to create a light, citrusy fragrance that lingers. And when you’re ready for a top-up, a quick spritz will have you ready to take on whatever the day brings. It also contains litsea cubeba which gives it that first peeled orange note!

As it settles onto skin it mellows out and some of the sweetness disappears and you get this very natural orange-y lemony scent that settles onto skin. It really is gorgeous! Very citrus-y and fresh smelling!

Sadly, it doesn’t quite last on my skin! I really need to mist myself madly with it for it to last. I get about three hours of scent from it before it disappears but during that time it has decent throw.

I wish this was a body lotion too as that would go a long way at maintaining the scent!

All in all, even with the shorter wear, I don’t regret picking this up!

It’s a deliciously tart, zesty citrus scent that’s fresh, uplifting, and happy!

Love it!
