5 stars out of 5

Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm ($28) is a new cleansing balm that contains jojoba and meadowfoam seed oils that nourish skin as the balm acts to gently and effectively remove makeup. The entire idea behind the new Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm was to create a makeup cleanser that removed your makeup but didn’t strip your skin or leave it tight and dry after cleansing. I dunno about you but most cleansers I use be it a balm, an oil, or cream almost always leave me with a tight, dry feeling until I apply moisturizer. It’s just something I’ve come to expect after cleaning my skin and I rely on my toner, essence, and other treatments to restore moisture that was loss during that initial cleanse.

Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm is one of the rare and very few products that removed my makeup without stripping my skin which means it’s my officially my ride or die now. I was sent a sample of this to try and after a single use immediately fell in love with it and ordered another tube so I have some more when I run out. It’s an absolute a marvel. Not only is the formula amazing but the packaging is perfect too!

Here’s the scoop!

Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm is 3.5 oz in size and $28 in price making it equivalent in price and size to popular cleansing balms like Clinique Take the Day Away Cleansing Balm which is $31 at 3.8 oz.

Paula’s Choice does have an advantage over other cleansing balms in the fact it comes stored in a squeeze tube. Not only does this keep the ingredients stable as you’re not constantly exposing it to air but also, it’s just neater and cleaner to use. About 99% of cleansing balms come housed in big old tubs. Some come with a spatula to remove the balm others don’t. Either way the tubs are hard to store, a bit messy, and not exactly hygienic. This packaging is brilliant. Squeeze a dollop out and done! It’s formulated with a good assortment of ingredients such as olive and jojoba oil and contains no fragrance.

This formula can be used on wet or dry skin or if you want you can leave it for a minute or so and remove it with a washcloth. I use it the traditional cleansing balm way by applying it to my dry skin, massaging on, and adding a little water to emulsify the balm and break it down before rinsing.

It’s not as thick as some cleansing balms and has a softer texture that has a light, creamy balm consistency. It feels quite hydrating on skin and breaks down into more of a creamy oil as I massage it on! After it’s on I’ll add a little water and massage a bit more before rinsing. It breaks down beautifully well and rinses clean away without leaving any residue. It removes all my makeup easily even waterproof mascara. My skin feels lightly hydrated and not tight nor dry after cleansing. I was very impressed with the fact my skin just felt great after using this.

Overall, Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm is a cleansing balm you can feel good about using! It’s packed with great ingredients and doesn’t strip nor dry out skin! I think I’ve found the one cleansing balm to rule them all.

Loves it. It gets a Muse Approval for sure!

Hmm may try. This review reminds me that they sent me a sample of the omega moisturizer a while back and I did love it. I completely forgot about it, I need to add it next time I haul. It had a bit of an odd texture out of the tube but a nice silky or matte effect on the skin and good for overnight wear.

Did. Not. Need. To. Read. This…. now I wanna try it. Do you like it better than Clinique’s TTDO balm? I used to use a lot of PC products til she sold the company and I thought it went downhill, but I could be persuaded that I’m wrong…

      • Kimkats

Dam,dam,dam,dam….. now I have to try it! And I have a couple full tubs of the TTDO sitting here looking at me! Argh…. well, I promised myself I wouldn’t try it til I can get it on sale, and don’t you *dare* tell me it’s on sale now!

Not tried yet, but will. I use the Omega + serum~3x/week. Have disliked other balms, because they get in your eyes, sting a bunch and leave your vision blurry. The PC products tend to avoid ingredients that irritate mucous membranes, eyes, etc. PC really is a good line.

Oh lord this sounds amazing. I have a nearly full bottle of Stratia’s cleanser, but I will try a tube of this at some point.

I haven’t tried her cleansing balm, but it looks like I’ll have to. I’m happy to see a review of Paula’s Choice, and that Sephora picked it up. Her BHA’s are the best in the industry and the only exfoliants I can use, due to my rosacea. I also love the Azelaic Acid and the Resist Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30. I’ve never had any irritation problems with her line.

her skincare is fantastic for sure ;-D I’m really happy they did a cleansing balm! It’s a great formula!

OK. It’s settled then. I need to try this, stat.
Thank you for the wonderful review- you hit all the points of interest for me, a formerly-oily-now-combination-skinned gal.
    As usual, you rock.
