About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Lol – seems like the releases are *always* fast and furious from Tarte…. Next to MAC, I think they release more and discontinue more than any other brand. I don’t mind buying something like an eyeshadow palette from them, but I gave up on their foundations, even though they had a couple I liked b/c they ditched them in favor of new releases. WHY don’t companies understand that incessant release, release, release followed by discontinue, discontinue, discontinue is a recipe for disaster? It may work for a while, but esp. with foundations, once people find one they like, they want to be able to keep buying it!!

grumble… I have Monday attitude, no doubt due to the gloomy weather.. 🙂 But seriously, I gave up on Tarte a long time ago, since they never seem to keep anything longer than a year or so. And they seem to be sinking into the “cutesy but ghastly overpriced” area that used to belong to TF, almost exclusively. Tarte has lost me for good and all.

OUAT, Tarte brought out some color and excited everyone. Now they seem to be on a been there, done that path again. They don’t even consider doing a cool neutrals, which might be nice.

I have a set of Tarte brushes from several years back and really like them but will pass on this new one. I like the eye palette though! Don’t need it but….
