Sigh! Note to Self Never Overshare on the Internet
I’d like to take a moment to address the Black Lives Matters post I did. A world of delicious hate rained down upon me when I posted that. E-mails and some really harsh, hateful comments came at me.
This is my fault for oversharing. Never overshare on the Internet! It can become hurtful.
Patrisse Khan-Cullors’ actions or the belief she’s somehow guilty (I’m not speaking on this topic and I’m not implying she is or isn’t guilty) doesn’t mean we need to stop fighting racism. I did not share what organizations I donated to in my post. Both are located in New York one of which helps women and children of color in domestic abuse situations. My pledge and my sharing my update on the pledge has become a major issue for some. I apologize for any hurt feelings you’re having at the moment over this but I vetted both the organizations I choose to donate to and none of them are helping anyone “to buy mansions”. That seems to be the sentence du jour when people are coming at me for donating.
I hope this clears up any questions. Be well. Try to be nice if you can when addressing me. I’m an actual human over here behind the screen.
