Don’t Say I Didn’t Tell You How Brilliant Charlotte’s Genius Under Eye & Face Magic Setting Powder Is
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Genius Under Eye & Face Magic Setting Powder ($45) is a loose setting powder that blurs imperfections, veils shadows, and visibly boosts radiance under eyes to set concealer or on face. You know I’m a hardcore Ben Nye Banana Powder kind of girl but also, I found my ride or die in Hard Candy Sheer Envy Bake, Brighten & Set Loose Powder.
Oddly, I like trying new things but I rarely venture outside of setting my powder with anything but one of those two powders because they work so well for me. But, of course, Charlotte always gets a little money from me which is why I decided to give Genius Under Eye & Face Magic Setting Powder a whirl.
And believe me, I didn’t expect to love it.
Charlotte’s Genius Under Eye & Face Magic Setting Powder isn’t exactly cheap. Available in a mere three shades this pot is pretty big at 0.45 oz and holds a hefty price tag at $45. If you’re comparing it to more higher end under eye brightening powders like Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes it’s over three times the size for $15 more ($30 for Laura’s). If I’m honest I sort of wish I’d have purchased the Charlotte’s Genius Magic Powder Kit that comes with a very interesting brush. I think the brush would have been great for under eye application!
So, real talk, will Charlotte’s Genius Under Eye & Face Magic Setting Powder bump Hard Candy Sheer Envy Bake, Brighten & Set Loose Powder off my ride or die list? Probably not just because I prefer the banana yellow shade of Hard Candy’s formula but aside from that, I don’t regret a single thing about this purchase and would buy it again.
This is truly the smoothest, silkiest powder I’ve had the pleasure of using and I’ve tried plenty. I wish they had a yellow tinted version but I ended up with the Medium which isn’t really Medium at all but more a light oat shade. Regardless of the color it still does what it promises and that’s not only setting my concealer but also brightening up my eye area. Despite the odd color, which I felt for sure would look ghostly, it actually does a truly wonderful job of provide a natural brightening under eyes.
The powder is a soft, silky, finely milled consistently that smooths under eyes like a second skin veil without creeping into finer lines or causing any added dryness. It looks natural under my eyes, sets my concealer for longer wear, and adds that touch of brightness to make me looked bright eyed and less tired when wearing it.
One of my biggest struggles in life is with puffy, tired eyes and a little of this goes a long way and easing the look of exhaustion and camouflaging some of that puffiness.
Charlotte’s Genius Under Eye & Face Magic Setting Powder is expensive but it’s well worth the investment. It’s a great one for setting concealer and should make your face more than happy as well should you use it to set makeup!
