My Boyfriend Smells Like a Stick of Gum and Here’s How Yours Can Too

I did a massive Lush Cosmetics order last week. I have no shame. I just wanted to indulge.

I mean, actually, I had a panic attack because it said Lush Keep It Fluffy was down to eight bottles in stock. And I got into a frenzy about needing to buy another bottle before it disappeared again forever. It was just not a good time for me imagining a world without Keep It Fluffy in it again. I remember sitting on the couch that night with my iPad feverishly adding a bottle to my cart and I spiraled….

Suddenly I was adding other stuff….

My boyfriend was watching the PBS News Hour and to snap him out of watching the news takes a lot lately but he looked down at me and was like, “Why do you look like you’re doing something you shouldn’t? Your eyes have a feverish glow! Are you watching pr0n?!”

My reply?

“No better….” Him: “Better you say?!?!” Me: “BETTER! I’m doing a Lush order!” He was crushed. But I enticed him into my feverish haul by promising him a bottle of Dirty Shower Gel and a slice of Outback Mate Soap because we’ve had neither in the house for a while (I haven’t done a Lush order in an age).

Yes, there were those comments…you know the ones about “You like me dirty don’t you?” because you know, he can’t handle not throwing around a little sex when I’m doing a soap, shower gel, and perfume haul. We all need those moments in our relationships don’t we? When we’re just casually minding our business, hauling some beauty, and our partners just come at us with some a sexual innuendo

But seriously…..

He’s a pretty no nonsense guy and thinks soap is not only for your body but for your face as well. Sigh…..He did show some interest in hair care a few weeks ago when he purchased OGX Anti-Hair Fall Coconut Caffeine Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner but the only problem is he has a head full of hair and the formula was to strengthen and reduce breakage. But we’ll let it slide and say he tried.

One thing I do know is he is obsessed with Lush Dirty. He loves the Styling Cream and he loves the shower gel. I HAVE not been able to entice him into wearing the perfume but let’s not pressure him too much into beauty. Sometimes it’s the baby steps that matter most.

I happy to be a Dirty girl myself (see what I did there?). I’ve always raved Lush Dirty products especially the perfume. It smells like a big old stick of gum. A slightly sweet and all spearmint scent. Delicious! Oddly, I actually like the way Dirty Styling Cream and Dirty Perfume smell best as the shower gel has a light herbal back note that the other two do not. None the less, Dirty just smells clean. Pretty sure that’s an oxymoron right? None the less if you like minty fresh scents this one is for you! Seriously, it rocks. Especially in the Summer when you’re craving a fresh, crisp, cool, invigorating scent to start the day off!

This morning I walked into a foggy bathroom and the minty fresh smell of Dirty. Sigh…I swear I brought that bottle just so I could smell that minty fresh scent in our bathroom, on his body and in his hair. It just smells so damn comforting.

When I stepped into the shower the scent of Dirty was actually overtaken by the sweet, zesty lemony scent mixed with eucalyptus of Outback Mate Soap. I dunno how Lush does it but their scents just linger in the air and on a person so incredibly well. I’d never say that lemon and eucalyptus would work. It sounds like a bad cough drop doesn’t it? But Lush did us right with that blend! This is a semi-soft soap so you might want to cure it a bit before using it! I had a nice bottle of Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake I wanted to use today but the temptation to use Outback Mate was too great. I know, I know, I did buy it for him but it smells so incredible.

Hey, maybe I can convince him to mist on a little Keep It Fluffy next………
