Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor Arrives But Will It Be Tacky?

Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor ($11.99) is a new ten shade collection of budge-proof liquid lip color with a vinyl-like shiny finish that doesn’t smudge nor transfer. Maybelline promises 16 hours of wear from this formula.
And I’d just like to say I’m pretty much the only person alive that dislikes the original Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink which makes me fear trying to the new Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor! I tried, I really tried but Super Stay Matte Ink is so suffocating to me not to mention oddly tacky. I swear this formula reminds me of a NARS compact after being in a draw with other makeup. You know how the old NARS rubber compacts would collect lint, powder, and other gross crumbs, and suddenly, the compact would feel all sticky and tacky. That’s how my lips feel when I wear Super Stay Matte Ink. Tacky, sticky, yucky….! Not a good feeling.
Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor is tempting as I’m addicted to anything shiny but I’m worried about the potential sticky, tacky feel. Mind you, I’m alone in this feeling as the original formula was raved so hard and so high across social media that I felt very alone on my island of hate while everyone swam happily in the waters Super Stay Matte Ink.
But as I said, I could be tempted because shine! Super Stay Matte Ink does have a hint of a shine but it does dry down to a matte finish in the end. Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor is just as long-wearing but apparently has a much shinier finish. Maybe it’s just what I need to get rid of that dry, tacky feeling.
We’ll see!
Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor is launching now at drugstores and is available at Ulta.
