5 stars out of 5

Benefit Pom Pom Wanderful World Silky-Soft Powder Blush is a new pomegranate rose blush with a matte finish that launched for Summer 2022. Pom Pom Blush is one of twelve new blushes that Benefit Cosmetics has launched which appear to be a permanent collection that replaces many of the old favs we know and love like Galifornia, Dallas, etc….

I was initially drawn to Pom Pom because I was thinking it would be a Dallas dupe but Dallas is way more plums and Pom Pom is much more rose. Dallas was such a great shade to wear in the Summer! I use to enjoy applying cheek stain and sweeping a little Dallas on my cheeks for added warmth. I actually still have a box of it but sadly, it’s gone off as it has a weird chemical scent and it’s rather dry.

But turns out that Benefit Pom Pom Wanderful World Silky-Soft Powder Blush is so much more!

Benefit Pom Pom Wanderful World Silky-Soft Powder Blush is 0.21 oz in size and $29. Although it appears smaller in size this blush is actually bigger than more recent releases like Galifornia as well as cheaper (Galifornia is $30 for 0.17 oz in size). The packaging is a bit more flimsy in comparison though. The box is very lightweight and it contains no brush (some of the really old-school shades like Coralista, Dallas, etc…used to come with a brush). It also has a lid that’s attached which I personally dislike. Benefit has been doing attached lids for a while and sure, it’s great if you happen to misplace things as you apply makeup in the AM but I personally liked the option for removing the lid. For some odd reason, I felt like my blush brush fit into the box better without the lid attached.

I wasn’t expecting much from Pom Pom as it’s one of the matte shades of blushes in this collection and we all know I’m not big on matte. But I absolutely love this shade! It’s stunning. I’d compared it to the Benefit Floratint I recently reviewed. It’s a very beautiful, warm desert rose shade. They call it pomegranate rose but I personally think of red when I think pomegranate and this is much more of a warm, almost terracotta-looking rose. It’s so warm and beautiful! It reminds me of those moments we spend in the sun on a warm Summer day and when we get inside we have that pretty flush of color left behind from the sun across our noses and cheeks.

The powder is a bit dense and looks dry but it applies smoothly and flawlessly. I didn’t get a big powdery kickup with this blush but I managed to pick color up easily with my brush. It applied perfectly and it built easily not to mention the pigment is just right so you aren’t overdoing it and ending up with clown cheeks. It was so easy to apply for someone with a heavier hand like me! The color wore strong for a solid eight hours. I’m eager to pair it up with a nice highlighter as I think it’ll really pop with a highlighter on top! I did notice this blush has a slightly sweet almost citrusy scent but it’s very subtle and shouldn’t be an issue for sensitive users.

Absolutely love this!

Benefit Pom Pom Wanderful World Silky-Soft Powder Blush gets a Muse Approval. I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing this all Summer long and hey, if the other shades are as good as this we’re all in for a treat!

Looks gorgeous on you! I’m so sad there isn’t a brush! It just made things so easy for me, grab & go! I still have my OG powders, and still use them lol.

    • Isabella Muse

I agree! And the brush was pretty good too! Sweep on and go! Some I still use but some smell off so I don’t use them 🙁 like my Dallas stinks so I don’t use it anymore.

      • Cindy

I haven’t noticed a stink but I will have to give them a sniff test next time I open them lol.

  • Emily Fussell

You just looking too precious! What do you have on your lips? I love it!

Thanks Emily! Revlon Nude Almond Suede Kiss Plumping Lip Creme!

I was just looking at these on Sephora and kudos to Benefit for having untouched realistic photos of their models. Their skin is perfectly imperfect and I for one appreciate that they didn’t touch up the photos to make their skin look flawless. That gives me even more reason to want to purchase one of their new blushes. I have my eye on Willa.

Muse, you are looking fabulous! Pretty shade on you too. I wondered if any of the darker matte shades would dupe the Original Dallas. Mine doesn’t smell bad so I keep using it but at some point I will have to toss it. I may go ahead and get Shellie as it seems that is very similar to Coralista. WHY did Benefit discontinue those shades!

Thank you!!!!! I love this shade! I’ll let you know about the other shades and possible dupes as soon as I try them! I’m so sad 🙁 Galifornia is still floating around HSN I believe but I don’t think it’s at sephora nor ulta anymore and that’s my fav shade!

This shade is stunning on you! I need to go swatch these. My complexion is pretty cool. I wonder if there is one that would be better for me.
