Fine’ry Sweet On the Outside Perfume Is Not An Eilish Dupe
Fine’ry Sweet On the Outside Perfume is one of several new, permanent fragrances launching at Target for Spring 2023. As you may know from my prior post Sweet On The Outside was described as a dupe of Eilish Eau de Parfum on Tiktok recently. On Tiktok I feel like everything is a dupe for everything. From Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk to Baccarat Rouge 540 Tiktok is filled with influencers offering up cheaper dupes on the daily. Sadly, about 90% of them are for views only because trust me what’s being pushed isn’t a dupe. Several years ago I did a post about a Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow and how it wasn’t a dupe of some other cream shadow. It’s been so long I can’t even remember what it was being compared to but I remember saying no, it wasn’t and I caught a bit of heat from Reddit and Makeup Alley for expressing that.
Bethenny Frankel started a Tiktok several months ago and I gotta say she has a fresh, candid voice on beauty but unfortunately, I have to be a little critical of her. Every SINGLE drugstore product she tries is a dupe for something high-end. And it’s ok if she thinks it’s a dupe it’s just the level of excitement and the constant yelling about how, “IT’S EXACTLY THE SAME THING! EXACTLY!” No, it’s not. Come on. Be real. I may come across a snob but you can’t compare apples and oranges sometimes you know?
That being said I’m happy to see Fine’ry launch at Target. I’m all about fragrance and I love cheaper little fragrances as much as I love higher-end ones. I went from Target to Target searching for this collection and it was difficult to find but at my third Target, I managed to find a completely filled display. I urge you to try searching these out now as once they hit Tiktok chances are they’ll sell out and they’ll be hard to get for a little while. I got two fragrances plus a sampler. I believe the fragrances are $25 each for 2 oz (I don’t have my receipt but I’ll check later and update the price if I’m wrong).
Even though I already own (and absolutely adore) Eilish I decided to purchase Fine’y Sweeet On the Outside anyway. I wanted to see how the two compared plus I didn’t mind having two versions of Eilish which is incredibly yummy!
This scent arrives in a basic but elegant glass bottle with a plastic top. It’s actually a very simple yet nicely packaged fragrance. Looking at it you probably couldn’t tell it was something I got at Target. It’s described as “a hypnotic and delicious veil of smoky vanilla” and has notes of Madagascar vanilla, tona bean, and smoked vetiver. In comparison, Eilish is an amber gourmand with notes of sugared petals, creamy vanilla, and warm musks. Eilish is sexy hot chocolate to me whereas Sweet On the Outside is smoky warm woods.
The scent is quite high-end to it. It has a nice touch of sweetness from the vanilla and a beautiful warm woodsy dry down. It’s a comforting scent that’s cozy and comfortable scent perfect for the cold, winter weather. It projects beautifully and has a long, lingering bubble. I prepped pre-application with my absolute favorite body oil, Body by TPH Anything Glows Body Oil (I also used the Body by TPH Baby Buff’d Body Scrub & Brightening Polish with Glycolic Acid in the shower!). This oil goes so well with Eilish but it works incredibly with Sweet on the Outside as well!
As far as dupes go this isn’t one for Eilish. I will say they are in the same family of warm, sultry, sexy vanilla. I hesitate to call it a gourmand but it does fit into the category and has all the characteristics of one. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s a lovely, sexy vanilla blend. Am I disappointed it isn’t a dupe for Eilish? Initially, yes I was but after I realized I already own Eilish and it was nice that this was different and I could enjoy something new.
