Eye Creams To Buy and Skip During the Sephora Sale

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I am a self-confessed eye cream-a-holic. I have tried most every eye cream on the market from cheap to expensive. I’m a very firm believer that not a lot of them work however, some are better than others, especially in the moisture they provide which in fact is the key to making finer lines look smoother and plumped up.

With the Sephora Spring Savings Event starting later this week it’s a great time to stock up on eye cream staples or maybe try out something new. Here are a few eye creams to buy and skip during the Sephora sale!

Youth To The People Dream Eye Cream with Vitamin C and Ceramides
100 hundred times yes! Especially if you have dry eyes! This is amazingly thick, absorbs quickly, and leaves eyes very, very well hydrated.

KORA Organics Noni Radiant Brightening Eye Oil
Trust me this is a no. You can just take Argan Oil and pat it under your eyes as this really doesn’t do anything at all as far as brightening and it provides very little moisture.

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Eye Cream with Retinol
YES! This is super moisturizing and it smoothes finer lines and makes them look so much more hydrated!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue1

Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye CreamPlease, no. I purchased this when it originally launched and it makes no sense. The texture never fully absorbs, it feels like a lightweight clay, and just doesn’t sit right under eyes!

Peace Out Retinol Eye StickYes! Oddly it works! It’s not really hydrating at all but use it under your fav eye cream or before going to bed in the evening and within about two to three weeks you’ll def see an improvement in lines. I’m on my third tube of this stuff and really am convinced it made my finer lines look so much smoother.

Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream
A solid eye cream but it’s either a no or a yes. Yes, if you’re in your mid-twenties to early thirties but no if you’re older. It’s not quite as moisturizing as you may need if you’re a bit older nor will it perform any miracles

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base
Yes, yes, yes especially yes if you use heavier, pigmented concealers like Shape Tape. I use this along with my normal eye cream to prep for concealer. It’s quite hydrating yet light and refreshing. It absorbs quickly and sets a beautiful, moisturizing canvas for concealer.

Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Cream with Ceramides
Naaa…! I purchased this when it originally launched and it’s nice. It absorbs easily, and feels very light, but it just isn’t moisturizing enough for me. I personally need a lot more moisture and this doesn’t provide it.

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream
Yes, absolutely. It’s still an OG when it comes to providing amazing moisture under eyes. It’s not gonna do much else, just a warning, but it will give your eyes a super boost of hydration!

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Mini Creamy Eye Treatment with AvocadoThis is a one-trick pony that excels at its one trick. It won’t depuff, it won’t brighten, it won’t treat dark circles, but it will be the heaviest eye cream you ever own that takes an age to absorb and it will provide super moisture under eyes.

Hourglass Equilibrium Intensive Hydrating Eye Balm
Purchased it twice already and will happily indulge again and again and again. This is like vaseline for eyes! It’s fire! Totally smoothes finer lines and leaves them looking incredible. It’s expensive but I always grab one when it goes on sale. Totally worth the splurge! If they discontinue this I will cry hard tears!

Hourglass Equilibrium Instant Plumping Eye Mask
This has replaced by beloved Versed The Fix Emergency Eye Mask (but sadly, it’s way more expensive). This is an instant smoothing and plumping mask that makes eyes look so incredibly smooth and hydrated. I use this before a night out and it makes my eyes look so much less tired.

Charlotte Tilbury Cryo-Recovery Depuffing Eye Serum
I think Charlotte does some good skincare but it can be hit or miss! For example, Magic Cream just isn’t my thing! And neither is this eye serum! It does nothing and is quite expensive for doing nothing. SKIP!

The INKEY List Caffeine Eye CreamI love me some Inkey List but this eye cream is a no. The caffine makes it too drying for this girl! Skip it!

Got an eye cream you’re curious about? Drop me a comment maybe I tried it and can help!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Thank you for this detailed post! I’ve been trying to find a good eye cream. I will have to check some of these out when they are on sale.

My pleasure! If you’re Rouge/VIB/BI at Sephora the sale starts soon!

Thank you for the recommendations! I’m on the lookout for an eye cream to gift to my mother and this is a great list to work from. Cheers!

Is there any eye cream that helps with under eye puffiness? Nothing I have tried works. I may have to look into surgery. 🙁

you really gotta determine if your bags are hereditary or if they are just puffy due to lack of sleep, screen time, etc…if it’s screen time and lack of sleep a cooling eye gel will help but hereditary bags are a hard one 🙁 I suffer from bags too and I really haven’t found anything that works aside from getting enough rest and sleeping on my side or my back (I’m a stomach sleeper and that’s a bad thing for puffiness). Also, on bad days a pigmented concealer is my best friend to hide some of the luggage!
