4 stars out of 5

Huda Beauty Lip Blush Cream Lip & Cheek Stain ($25) is a new transfer-proof matte stain that can be used on lips and cheeks with a formula infused with Hyaluronic Acid Powder and coconut extract to provide moisture. I should disclose I LOVE cheek stains. They used to be my jam several years ago and pretty much all I wore. Times have changed but I still love me a good cheek stain so when Huda introduced these new Lip Blush Cream Lip & Cheek Stain I instantly purchased one!

These a lot like the Kaja Jelly Charm Glazed Lip Stain & Blush With Keychain in terms of formula but they are a smidge bigger for the price. Both are $25 and this is 0.20 oz where as Kaja’s are 0.17 oz. I will say Kaja’s are on sale at the moment at 25% Off and I think their shade range is a lot nicer and for some reason I get a more lifted cheek look from them which I don’t get from Huda’s version!

I liked these a lot. I do wish the color range was better but this formula is great. I think the biggest compliant I see with cheek stains is they can be difficult to blend because some of the formula set to quickly. Benefit Benetint is probably the biggest offenders. Formulas like these are brilliant because they aren’t runny liquids but gel-like balms that apply and blend easily. They have a very moisturizing feel which means they apply smoothly without falling into pores or accentuating drier areas.

I’m not a big, big fan of dual blush lip and cheek because I think it’s icky to use something on my lips and proceed to use it on my cheeks but you can always wipe the applicator off between uses. This formula is a bit dewy initially when applied to cheeks but sets to a smooth, natural finish on my cheeks. It isn’t greasy nor oily and has a hydrating balm-like feel on the skin. As promised, once applied it won’t budget. It wears for a solid 10 to 12 hours without fading and looks as fresh as when you originally applied it. On lips it isn’t as long-wearing. I can get a stain of around 3 hours from it before it fades. It has a balmy consistency on lips as well but settles to a smooth stain after that initial balminess wears away.

I got the shade Coral Kiss and the shade is NOT coral at all. It’s sort of a warm tan peach and on my lips it turns red. It wasn’t a terrible looking shade! It’s actually quite lovely. If you want to see it in outdoor lighting take a look at my Instagram account. But I did go into the purchase thinking it would be a nice coral. I’ve read a few reviews that say other shades are misrepresented as well so I’m not alone.

Huda Beauty Lip Blush Cream Lip & Cheek Stain had a few hiccups but all in all, it’s a lovely little cheek stain that wears long and strong. If you love cheek stains you’ll enjoy this formula!

Where to buy

Sephora

Huda Beauty Lip Blush Cream Lip & Cheek Stain is a new hybrid cheek stain that can be used on both lips and cheeks. These are $25 each, 0.20 oz in size, and available in five shades. The stains come housed in a square barrel with an attached sponge applicator for easy application on lips and cheeks. This formula is lightly balmy with a hydrating feel that applies smoothly on cheeks. They blend very, very easily and leave behind very long-wearing color that stays on for a good 10 to 12 hours without fading. On cheeks it was lightly hydrating and on lips it had a balmy texture that disappeared and left behind a stain that wore for about three hours.

Pros

  • Long-wearing.
  • Lightweight, hydrating, blends easily.

Cons

  • Lack of shade range (only five shades).
  • Colors are misrepresented (my coral was more a warm tan peach).

I bought the mauve one, Rosy Kiss, and I like it. I only use it on my lips (due to the ick factor) but I think it is pretty and feels nice on.

I like this formula a lot but the shades are wonky! Yup! Major ick factor! I just wipe the wand between uses!
