Who saw the Little Mermaid? Who loved it? Me! Me! Me! After seeing all those sneak peeks of Sebastian and Flounder I was bracing myself to hate this film. Because really, that little CGI crab and fish just didn’t have the magic of the cartoon. I actually still feel there was a BIT TOO much CGI in the film but I still loved it much to my surprise (imagine if they went all Splash with this film? How freaking cool would that be?!! I mean, if Daryl Hannah can do a full on mermaid Disney can make it happen right?). Halle was magical and enchanting. She had this sweet innocence about her that was very enchanting.

I oddly didn’t see a lot of merch for the film or maybe I wasn’t paying attention? I feel like if this was released a few years ago we’d have MAC getting on board and creating some sort of collection and perhaps E.L.F.! Remember E.L.F. took on Disney tons of times in the past and of course, Ariel was def part of that! There was a Disney Ariel Storylook Eyeshadow Palette, an E.L.F. Disney Ariel Crystal Brush Gift Set, E.L.F. Disney Ariel Go On and Kiss the Girl Set, and many other items from the Little Mermaid they released several years ago! And let’s not forget Sephora’s Ariel Collection! They even had a Kiss the Girl Perfume! Soho Beauty really went hard for a while as well with a variety of cute makeup bags including the Little Mermaid Makeup Bag Collection!

I’m sort of sad there aren’t a ton of collaborations. Ulta does have one they did but I’m not sure I’m in love with and also, Pacifica and Black Girl Sunscreen. I guess it’s testimony that the beauty bubble is popped and inflation doesn’t have us wanting to dish out on “cute” makeup items just because.

But there are still cute things to be hade and Carol’s Daughter Disney the Little Mermaid Wash Day Delight Conditioner made its way into my cart recently. I’m a pretty big fan of Carol’s Daughter but I haven’t tried their Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight Jelly-to-Cream Conditioner. It was an added bonus for me being able to get it in the limited edition Little Mermaid packaging and being able to try it for the first time. The product itself isn’t new and is available in standard packaging but it was re-released in limited edition palette to celebrate the film’s release.

Walmart has a few cute sets like the Carol’s Daughter Goddess Strength The Little Mermaid Hair Set and Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla The Little Mermaid Hair Set as well as this Wash Day Delight Conditioner. I refrained from the sets because I am already very stocked up on Black Vanilla (as you may know it’s a fav of mine) but I did indulge in the Wash Day Delight Conditioner since the consistency intrigued me. I will say sadly, Halle’s image does not appear on the jar. It’s just a stock image of a mermaid! Cute but definitely feels less Little Mermaid without Halle making an appearance. I imagine it’s due to licensing and Halle’s contract etc…

As I said above Wash Day Delight Conditioner is one of the few Carol’s Daughter products I didn’t try. Honestly, in passing this looks like a big jar of hair gel! I almost thought that was what it was but nope, it’s a conditioner. I typically love the scent of Carol’s Daughter products but this wasn’t a LOVE. This is more of a like. It kind of reminds me of something Lush but I can’t think what. It’s a green almost aquatic scent. Sort of fresh, sort of seaweed-like (but obviously not in a gross stinky way haha). It def has a bit of an aloe scent as well which makes sense as it does contain aloe. The scent isn’t so strong that it lingers in my hair though! But that seems the case with a lot of Carol’s Daughter products lately. I’m a big believer they were much better in formulation and fragrance pre-sale to L’Oreal.

This is fun formula. Quite unique really. It’s has a gelatin-like texture that apparently is supposed to change into a cream once it’s applied to wet hair. I didn’t really notice it changing into a cream but the texture absorbs quite easily into my long, wavy hair and it almost felt like I was applying a styling gel in the shower. A bit weird at first but after using it I sort of became obsessed with the consistency. I love how easily it rinses out as well. It feels like it absorbs into your hair almost and it really provides a good deal of moisture. I was surprised to read some people complaining it made their hair dry! I thought it made mine very hydrated! I experienced no issues with build up either since I began using it! It’s quite a nice treat if you have drier hair.

Carol’s Daughter Disney the Little Mermaid Wash Day Delight Conditioner was a nice little addition to my hair care routine. I’m glad only the packaging is limited edition as I really liked this formula.

You can sang Carol’s Daughter Disney the Little Mermaid Wash Day Delight Conditioner now at mass retailers. Anyone try this? Do share your results using it!

The Wash Day Delight shampoo is an interesting consistency as well. It is like putting micellar water on your scalp! It turns foamy after you massage it in.
They also have a Rose version of the shampoo and conditioner, but it doesn’t have the cute mermaid packaging. 🙂
