Christmas Tree Stores WIll Liquidate and Close This List of Stores

As you guys know I had a fight with my dad about Christmas Tree Shops and their lack of inventory recently. He was adamant the selection they had in stores was as awesome as ever but I was all like, “No dad, things are looking sparse around here and I think I could hear my echo when I walked into the store!”

Well, news broke over the 4th of July Holiday that Christmas Tree Shop or as they are now known CTS Stores, have defaulted on their $45 million dollar loan. The retailed filed for bankruptcy in May and apparently if they don’t find a buyer very soon they’ll closing a lot more stores which are listed below (10 stores were already closed in May).

The store has been struggling and sales have continued to slump since the pandemic. Bed, Bath, and Beyond used to be the parent company of Christmas Tree Shops but in 2020 Handil Holdings, LLC took over. Sadly, Bed, Bath and Beyond have had their own struggles with bankruptcy this year as well! Christmas Tree Shops have been in business 53 years but sadly it does look things are coming to an end. I’ll personally miss the store as I really loved their fun, inexpensive seasonal items. I did notice after their rebranding that prices went up considerably but inflation as also, set in. If they are to completely close I’d miss shopping there for sure! According to news sources the closing are supposed to happen with the next few weeks and here is the full list of Christmas Tree Shops that are closing:

They only said “in a few weeks closing will start if no buyer is found”. If any other updated info pops up will update!

An article said they are $45 million in debt , and owe another $20 million for inventory . I was at the Albany NY store last week , there was nothing interesting , and the prices did not constitute a ” Bargain ” , as they like to say . Somebody is making off with a load of cash .

I was told late last week we were losing ours. The sales started Friday and there is no timeline on when the store will close. This is too bad. CTS had some nice stuff. I looked the kitchen stuff and food items.
