Catrice and Essence sometimes just make me fall over in joy when they release something that strikes all the sweet spots. That’s the case with this new Essence Hugs & Teddies Plumping Lip Gloss. It’s affordable, it’s pigmented, it’s lightly glossy, it wears like a liquid lipstick but has a hydrating feel and finish! I mean, $3.99 for all this? Count me in! I already ordered a backup because I have fear it’ll disappear the way my favorite Catrice Pure Pigments Lip Lacquer did! I still mourn the loss of that formula but the Hugs & Teddies Plumping Lipgloss is totally filling the empty space in my heart.
This little gloss arrives in a long square barrel with a rose gold top and a cute little teddy bear icon on the barrel. It’s $3.99 for 0.12 oz of gloss. I wish this gloss came in more shades but sadly, it’s only the one! And the one shade is pretty darn awesome by the way. It’s called Kissed by a Teddy and it’s a warm toasty brown nude! It’s incredibly pigmented and looks more like a liquid lipstick than a lipgloss due to that incredible color pay off.
The formula is thicker and has a creamy texture with a nice bit of shine without being tacky or sticky! It wears for a solid four hours without migrating or moving. It has a light tingle when I first apply it but no major stinging. And it yeah, it really does make my lips look fuller and plumper. I think you can see that in my picture. It feels very nicely hydrating through the wear and I detected no flavor nor any fragrance in the formula.
