Maison Margiela Replica Under the Stars Launches at Harrod’s
The new Maison Margiela Replica Under the Stars Eau de Toilette ($127) is probably the first Replica Fragrance I don’t want to get my hands on. This is a new Oud Blend which is a first for Replica and they may be coming into this note a little late in the game as it’s been quite viral, trendy, and fashionable for several months but now Vanilla is the note that’s taking over the fragrance world. As a gourmand girlie this holds little appeal for me as it’s a woodsy fragrance with notes of leather and oud. I don’t really like leather notes as I discovered after blind buying Hibiscus Mahajád which was madly raved as being sweet and pretty but was much more leather jacket meets Hawaii on my body chemistry!
Maison Margiela Replica Under the Stars notes are:
- Base notes: Labdanum resinoid, Oud infusion, Leather accord
- Middle notes: Cypriol Essence, Virginian cedarwood essence
- Top notes: Black papper essence, Cinnamon leaf essence
As with all Replica fragrances this scent is supposed to evoke a particular memory and that memory is one of starry nights in the wilds of nature. Of admiring the stars on a dark note! The oud is said to create a mystery while the labdanum creates the warmth of a summer night with a kick of black pepper and spicy cinnamon!
Maison Margiela Replica Under the Stars is apparently exclusively to Harrod’s but I imagine at some point other retailers will get it. This launched this past Summer in Europe but we are just seeing it trickle into the US market now. Considering the warm notes it should be a lovely pick for Fall and Winter.
I’d be curious to smell it but not sure I’d indulge in a bottle. How about you?
