Tarte Gets My Hate Sometimes But Not for This

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

As someone who used to be a huge Tarte fan (massive) I can honestly say I’ve given them some beef over the last few years. They’ve released some star products over the years (Hello, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara!) and some incredible Holiday Gift Sets (I think we can all agree launches like the Tarte The Starlet Makeup Vanity for Holiday 2011 were innovative and ahead of the time!).

But they can be annoying brand for me. It’s probably me and not them who knows? I just think they got too overwhelming, too into the viral moment, and just really need to slow their roll and still do. Tarte just releases products every week not to mention they have this constant round of foundation releases that just feels so overwhelming to me at times. Shape Tape Concealer Plus, Shape Tape Concealer The Sequel, Shape Tape Brilliance, Shape Tape Radiance, Shape Tape Hydrating Plus, it’s a lot…! I can promise you that by the time Black Friday and Cyber Monday rolls around they’ll shove a good 10-15 new products at us. It’ll likely be some prelude for Tarte Spring 2023. And yeah, that’s just the way marketing works because right now is a prime time to get those Holiday dollars and launching new, new, new is an excellent idea.

But it doesn’t mean I’m not exhausted from it sometimes and I think some of you are as well. I will say they get a bit of hate from me lately, true, but they do excel in a lot of areas and one of those areas that actually lives up to the hype is the Maracuja Juicy Lips Collection. This stuff gets so much airtime on social media it’s obscene.

And it feels super duper overhyped and aggressively pushed into my face across all platforms but I actually agree with the hype. Tarte did a fantastic job with this formula. It’s one of the best lip products and treatments in the market in my opinion. It’s a product that has a consistently awesome formula. As someone who likes shiny, hydrated lips this is my moment. These are shiny, pack in plenty of pretty color, and have incredible shiny and moisture.

And the best time to buy them is around the Holidays since Tarte bundles them up into sets that are incredibly awesome. Also, Tarte normally does great sales during Black Friday and Cyber Monday but some of these sets actually are the same price as you’d get around that sale time. So, if you’ve had your eye on any of these! You can snag them especially since the Sephora Holiday Sales Event 2023 starts tomorrow and you’ll get them at a better deal. There are three sets this year and I know QVC will likely brings in some coolness too as we head deeper into the Holiday season!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. It’s a legit criticism. In particular, I wish more brands had more settings on receiving emails instead of all or nothing. Email me once a week not multiple times a damn day. It’s a turn-off.
