Is Snow Fairy Shampoo Going to Make My Hair Like Straw?

Lush Snow Fairy is really Snow Fairying for Holiday 2024! There’s not only a new Lush Snow Fairy Shampoo but Snow Fairy Dusting Powder, Snow Fairy Soup, Snow Fairy Body Lotion, Snow Fairy Body Scrub, Snow Fairy Milkshake Shower Gel, and so many other Snow Fairy products my head is about to explode. I hate to admit this but I probably purchased my first Snow Fairy product 20 plus years ago when Lush was still doing mail order from their little newspaper catalogs. I’ve been a fan ever after. It’s one of the sweetest, pinkiest, and prettiest scents out there. It smells like pink bubblegum, sweet candy, with some fruity element. It’s a gourmand lovers dream.

This year Lush is pushing it hard and they pretty much scented everything and anything with Snow Fairy. Some may say they are going a little too crazy with this collection as they have a variety of Snow Fairy formulas now that include glitter, glitter-free, and different shades. I do LOVE they released a glitter and glitter-free shower gel formula. I’m not a big fan of the glitter one and I love they brought back the glitter-free formula. It’s nice having both options available! Another interesting item that caught my eye and of course, like the sucker I am, purchase is Lush Snow Fairy Shampoo.

Here’s what this makes me a sucker.

If you’re a real long time Lushie you remember when Lush in fact promoted Snow Fairy as shampoo. And I may be completely wrong but I think it was mentioned in the label somewhere where it said Snow Fairy Shower Gel and Shampoo! I DO know for a fact it was mentioned in the directions where they said use it on your body or your hair. Which, of course, I tried but never ever did again because it legit made my hair dry as straw.

I’m a total sucker though so when I saw they launched an ACTUAL Snow Fairy Shampoo I was like ok, I gotta try that. I should have broken down the ingredients first but the heart wants what the heart wants. Let’s take a look!

Lush Snow Fairy Shampoo Ingredients:
Marshmallow Root Mucilage, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fresh Beetroot Juice, Cocamide MEA, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Fresh Strawberry Juice, Fresh Lemon Juice, Glycol Stearate, Carrageenan Extract, Persian Lime Oil, Camellia Oil, Water, Citric Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Musk, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, *Limonene, Red 33, Red 28 Lake, Iron Oxides, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel Ingredients:
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl Betaine, Fragrance, Persian Lime Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Musk, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, *Limonene, Red 33, Red 28, Red 21 Lake

Ok, the ingredients are different that’s good news but I dunno if this is going to make much difference in how it treats my hair. Let’s HOPE things go well and I don’t end up with a head of hay after using this stuff. What would really impress me is if they did a conditioner too! But hey, I’ll take what I can get because you know this stuff is going to linger on and on and on in my hair as Lush haircare is crazy strong and I love the idea of going around with Snow Fairy scented hair!

What’s your hot take on the new Lush Snow Fairy Collection for Holiday 2024? Are you happy about all the endless Snow Fairy scented options or can you do without it?

I’ll wait for your review. I’m cautious about hair care now that I go to the salon every 6-8 weeks for color. I do love the Snow Fairy scent though. It’s top of the list with Comforter, for me.

don’t! I don’t dye but I hear that all Lush haircare is really stripping when it comes to colored hair!

I have not bought Lush holiday product for a few years running because the quality seemed down. Or the quality after shipping was so rough. But if they do a wrapped gift of all the show fairy stuff – that sounds pretty fun. Sigh. Better set my Boxing Day alarm.

sigh. Don’t get me started on the shipping! It’s just so BAD! 🙁 That would be cool! Minis of everything in a box! I’m never lucky on Boxing Day! It all sells out so fast 🙁

Maybe just wash the front of your hair? On a day you’ll be home? Just tuck the rest in a shower cap or something..

Since it has both of the SLS surfactants, it’s probably going to be a little harsh. I wouldn’t use it without following up with a good conditioner.

I tried the shampoo when it was first released as a part of the Barbie collab. I worked well for my hair and did not dry it out. I have very dark brown, slightly wavy combination hair (oily at roots, dry at ends). Only iffy thing is it may dye blond hair pink if you leave it on for longer. I had to warn my mother as she sometimes borrows my hair products.

The shampoo worked for me personally and made my hair smell great!
