Would You Like To See Lipgloss and Lipstick Launches Pushed Forward?

Fact: I prefer lipgloss over lipstick. There’s just something more comfortable about a gloss for me! Maybe because my lips are drier I prefer the hydrating texture but honestly, I just think I like glossy lip looks more than lipstick. For me, Summer is typically the season for super glossy lips! The glossier, the better. This year, not so much. Face masks have taken over our everyday life and wearing lipgloss or even lipstick is a messy affair. It’s really not my priority when I’m slapping a mask on to do up my lips. Lipstick isn’t cancelled by any means as long-wearing liquid lipstick can be worn very easily under a mask but you know how much I hate long-wearing lipstick.

I posted on Instagram yesterday about the new Visee Juicy Syrup Lipgloss that was supposed to be available this Summer in Japan but they actually pushed the date forward due to the current pandemic. Maybelline has a new gloss available launching with their Summer 2020 Collection and many other brands have glosses and lipsticks upcoming for the Summer season ahead.

But do you want to see them launch?

Or would you rather have them pushed to a later release date when you can buy and enjoy them a bit better?

I’d actually see them pushed to a later date. I don’t see myself purchasing lipgloss at the moment or a transferable lipstick. First off, you can’t see it on me. Sure, I can wear it around the house! But I’d love to wear it out and about as well. Secondly, I can’t wear it under my mask as it would be hecka messy.

What about you?

Would you like to see lip products launch right now?

Or would you rather brands wait and launch them at a later time or date?

Do share!

I’ve been totally bummed about not being able to wear lipstick (my favorite cosmetic). I’m not a lip gloss fan as I hate smears and feathering. I suppose it’s up to each company about what they want to do, but I they’ll sell much less of it right now. These companies invest much in their seasonal lines and they want to make their money back, so they’ll probably release anyway. We’ll probably see less lip products being made for a while.

I love gloss and I’m bummed that I can’t really wear it right now since I’m working in the office again with my mask on all day. I did purchase the CT Wedding Belles lipstick but I guess I’ll just wear it at home. I understand brands delaying releases now but it makes me a little sad since it is my favorite cosmetic item.

I got some of the new CT bridal lipsticks too but it’s in the house wear only for me too! Things will get back to normal soon!

Definitely not buying lip products right now. Things won’t get better until a vaccine and that’s probably on early 2021. Plus, my family is part of the risky group so it’s masks nonstop for me.I do have an ig though…Unfortunately though I think I might stop even with the eye makeups. I use glasses outside for protection and I’m sweating my ass off…. What’s the point.

Push back the launches! I’m not going to buy any lip products until we don’t have to wear masks.

I bought some Pat McGrath lip glosses right before we went into lock down. Now they just sit on my dresser, taunting me. I wear them around the house occasionally but it’s not the same.

I own more lipgloss than lipstick.Dry lips are not fun.But neither one goes great with a mask.Messy. So, I’m playing with lip liners and lip balm. A little less messy and the color does not move as much. I hate wearing masks, but I like staying healthy and living more. There are more people I’m hearing that are sick with Covid virus.Looking cute for myself ain’t that important. It doe not matter to me if they push it back…..I’ll probably buy it whenever it comes out Lol

Honestly the only makeup I’ve been buying or wearing lately is lip balm/gloss stick, when I’m at home or out for a run. If I go out and have to wear a mask then I’m not wearing lipstick or foundation – and if I’m not putting on any lipstick or foundation I just can’t be bothered to put on any eye makeup either. I’m really wondering what the short/medium term effect on the makeup industry will be.

    Hi Muse!!!
I’m frustrated looking at my mask with makeup stains. Although I’m leaving the house with less lip product, I just won’t go without my tinted SPF CC cream. I blot everything down, trying to make it as transfer resistant as possible but living in a city like Houston, TX makes it nearly impossible. Do you have any suggestions for products or techniques? Thank you & stay safe!

I think they should wait. A lot of ladies I talk to are even paring down wearing makeup in general. I feel bad without my lips on but you’re right – wearing a mask kind of puts a damper on it.

At least we can do our eyes!
