Cerave Ulta-Light Moisturizing Gel ($20.99) is a new weightless gel moisturizer that promises to provide long-lasting hydration throughout the day with a formula rich in ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid. I immediately purchased this when I saw it launch at Ulta as we’re pretty deep into the Summer heat over here in New York and I’m always looking for lightweight moisturizers that wear well on their own or with my SPF. Plus I always feels like Summer is the season for gel moisturizers. Dry skin girls and guys will love this for Summer but oily skin ones will love this year round.
Cerave Ulta-Light Moisturizing Gel comes in a tube with an attached pump for easy dispensing of the gel. It’s 1.75 oz in size and a pretty hefty price and $21.99. It’s a water-based gel moisturizing that contains a host of beautiful ingredients including niacinamide which will smooth, hydration, and brighten skin. Along with that you’ll also load up on Cerave’s ceramide mix (they always have at least three in their formulas) as well as hyaluronic acid.
This is a lightweight fragrance-free gel that absorbs instantly into skin without feeling tacky nor sticky. It delivers very light but lasting moisture that doesn’t feel heavy nor does it make skin greasy, dewy, or shiny upon application or during the wear. It’s not super hydrating and ideal for Summer for my drier skin. I tend to be a bit more oily and shiny in the heat and this is a perfect formula that doesn’t add excess shine or oil to my skin. That being said, I can’t use this in the Winter as it won’t be hydrating enough for me. Oily skin users will adore it! It’s light, wears well under makeup, and won’t clog pores nor create excess shine on skin. It also wears well with heavier SPF as it’s incredibly light and breathable.
Cerave Ulta-Light Moisturizing Gel gets a big yay from me. Yeah, sure, I won’t be able to enjoy it in the cooler weather but right now, in this heat, it’s the perfect lightweight moisturizer!

It comes housed in a tube with an attached pump for ease of use. This is a lightweight translucent gel that absorbed easily into my skin and didn’t leave it tacky, dewy, sticky, or shiny. I thought it provided very light but lasting moisture and wore well under my makeup! It didn’t create any excess shine or oiliness through the wear and made my face look smooth and supple. This is a good pick if you’re oily as it’s incredibly lightweight and doesn’t create excess shine! Dry skin users will love it for Summer but definitely will require something richer in the colder weather!
