Goop Colorblur Glow Balms Copy Jones Road Miracle Balm

Look out Bobbi! Gwen is coming for you! Goop Colorblur Glow Balms launched today in fives shades and they are serving up Jones Road Miracle Balm vibes. According to Gwen she doesn’t really wear makeup unless she’s dressing up so she created Colorblur Glow Balm to give cheeks a sheer flush of color. These translucent cream blush contain vitamin e and c as well as safflower oil for a fresh pop of color that gives a hydrated, natural-looking glow.
“Just a little—I use my fingers—brightens up your whole face in seconds,” Gwyneth says. “And it nourishes your skin at the same time…!”
If you’re comparing the two balms this is Goop’s formula (the formula varies by shade for some reason and the ingredients listed here are for the shade Slipper):
Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Hydroxystearic Acid/adipic Acid/glycerin Crosspolymer, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Bis-diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Wax, Coco-caprylate/caprate, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Triheptanoin, Tribehenin, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Bismuth Oxychloride (Ci 77163), C9-12 Alkane, Dilinoleic Acid/butanediol Copolymer, Tocopherol, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Castor Oil/ipdi Copolymer, Glyceryl Laurate, Glyceryl Undecylenate, Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985), Red 6 Lake (Ci 15850), Iron Oxide (Ci 77491), Iron Oxide (Ci 77492
And this is the Jones Road formula:
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cera Alba/Beeswax/Cire d’abeille, Castor Isostearate Succinate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Diisostearyl Malate, Caprylic/Capric/Myristic/Stearic Triglyceride, Coconut Alkanes, Mica, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Brassica Campestris/Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Oil, Rosmarinus Officianlis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Silica, Tocopherol, May Contain +/-: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Iron Oxides/CI 77491/CI 77499/CI 77492, CI 77163/Bismuth Oxychloride, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, CI 77861/Tin Oxide, CI 45410/Red 28 Lake
They are actually fairly different in formulation but the idea and concept appears to be the same. A glowy, sheer, and moisturizing balm blush is the basic concept. I already own the Jones Road Miracle Balm in two shade and it’s literally a solid balm (you have to dig at it to get the color out) and it has a very moisturizing and balmy consistency. It’s not something you want to indulge in if you have oily skin as it definitely gives a dewy color finish.
It’s definitely not a formula for everyone. I’m curious how the Colorblur Glow Balms will compare to it. I do know one thing! Like a lot of Goop’s line these are expensive if you compare them to Jones Road. These are $34 and weight in at 0.5 oz each but the Miracle Balm from Jones Road is 1.75 at $38. You’re getting a lot more product for a little more with the Miracle Balm as you can see. But that being said I appreciate a smaller size sometimes since I have a lot of makeup and can never fully use up a blush anyway but if you’re looking for bang for your buck you have to give it to Bobbi for creating the bigger product.

As I mentioned above Colorblur Glow Balms is available in five shades which are:
- Slipper: warm peach
- Velveteen: soft mauve
- Venus: soft fuchsia
- Whiskey: warm terra-cotta
- Afterglow: soft berry
Goop Colorblur Glow Balms are available now! We’ll have to see how they compare to the Jones Road formula!
