I’m Missed Out On Rhodes Sprinkle Pocket Blush And That’s Ok

Rhodes Skin launched a new, limited-edition Pocket Blush today called Sprinkle. I sort of wished it would sell out fast because I was on the fence about wanting it. Rhodes Sprinkle Pocket Blush was a NARS Orgasm-like shade with warm pearly pink which sounded right up my alley. But I have SO many shades like this and I questioned if I needed it. Honestly, if it was free shipping for that blush alone I’d have dove in but the threshold is $45. And here’s the thing…! I like Rhodes Skin. A lot of people aren’t into it and right it off as another celebrity brand. And I get it, we’re all sort of on celebrity fatigue mode. But the skincare from Rhodes Skin is quite good and I really love her Lip Tints a little too much!

So, here was my problem…! I had my cart loaded up with a ton of stuff when Sprinkles dropped because I felt inclined to get free shipping. But also, I started browsing the Lip Tints and ended up with two I don’t have plus a blush duo and it was getting crazy. Thankfully, I missed Sprinkles because I was busy being indecisive whether or not I needed all the stuff in my cart. And guess what? That’s ok that I missed.

I’m trying more and more to quote the FOMO beast that marketing creates and I’m succeeding. Because Makeup FOMO is a real thing and social media and brands are utterly guilty of making us feel it!

Sure, I missed the drop but it’s not the end of the world. And chances are the shade will come back in or they’ll do another shade just like it. Or some other brands will release a shade just like it. In the makeup word “limited-edition” has no value anymore and it’s only re-released at some other time in the future or someone else ends up duping it. I mean, look at Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette that’s a perfect lesson right? Gone but not forgotten and now back from the makeup graveyard!

I missed out on Rhodes Sprinkle Pocket Blush and that’s ok. I’ll live to see another makeup release. What are some LE drops you’ve missed that you’ve made me peace with? Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I am a makeup junkie, I feel the need to possess things I don’t need and won’t miss. I can be impulsive so sometimes I’ll just sit back and tell myself you don’t need it, let the feeling pass.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL toally relate to the I want it but don’t need and yes, if you just take a few hours the feeling passes and you’re saving money and the feeling of being angry at yourself for buying something you didn’t need ;D

A lot. Stuff sells out in no time here, especially for brands with limited physical stock. Usually around the holidays, some brands like to release a very pretty item and it is increasingly difficult to get one now. I have a small makeup archive/art collection of sorts of little pieces (like highlighters) that I collect. Maybe one a year or so. I still have a backup of the original EL Modern Mercury.

Some is the price being a factor (do I really want to spend X on whatever), some is that there are only a handful of shops selling the item, some is that the item is gone from the website before I even wake up. Maybe it is the influencers, who knows. I do grumble sometimes, but with social media and FOMO/false demand, the makeup landscape has changed. Maybe Chanel will re-package Premier Rouge/Or again in my lifetime or maybe they have and it was called something else. I just tell myself I will like something else.

Hi Isabella! How do the Rhodes lip tints compare to Ole henriksen ones?

    • Isabella Muse

quite similar but the ole ones are a bit thicker! I think the Rhodes ones have a touch more pigment and I find them a little more moisturizing!

    Okay, people, seriously…all included:
Why would one ever EVER want a cheap pos cream blush stick housed in plastic for $45 plus sales tax? Or even $20, this gets absurd imo. Some may know my background or not, irrelevant, but I am aware of the deep inner workings from the inside of prestige brands at Sephora and the others, as well as Fortune 500 mass beauty brands. R&D, formulary ingredients, the componentries of how they are housed that creates a container or presentation holder pieces , per se, as well as marketing and sales. The factories these beauty and cosmetic houses use, the actual cost of goods per component piece and live product “fill” put in. This is absurd.
Most should know better than to “buy” into any of this nonsense. Let alone actually “buy” with any of one’s (hard earned or not, lol) money. I can pay for wherever, Our Muse can too, but we know better. Pure junk…people, consider an alternative. There are $5-10 ones that are available. Do not torture yourself, anyone. Please. Let’s all refuse not only this type of purchase absurdity, let alone have one thought that a life or face would be better with said product. This is not luxury.
Price truly does not indicate quality. A lesson most have yet to be exposed to or made aware.
