Lush is going hard with Snow Fairy this year and there is an entire Snow Fairy Holiday Collection that features a Snow Fairy Shampoo! We got shower gel, dusting powder, soap, body scrub, and tons of other scented like the delicious Snow Fairy fragrance!

As you know I expressed some concern about buying Lush Snow Fairy Shampoo as I thought it might dry my hair out. I remember way back when the shower gel was marketed as both a shower gel and a shampoo and I have indeed used it in my hair and as delightfully scented as my hair was it still turned into pure straw after using it. It was WAY to drying for use in my hair. Considering they reformulated it slightly and created an actual shampoo formula I decided to give it a whirl and here’s how it went.

Before we discuss formula let’s discuss scent. Snow Fairy is a delightfully fruity, sweet, slightly vanilla powdery scent (think cotton candy with lots of vanilla) that smells delicious and is one of the most unique sweet gourmands I’ve come across. It really is a delicious scented product and I look forward to its launch when the Holiday season arrives. Lush only releases it once a year for Christmas and after that it’s forever after gone till the next year.

As I said above, I’ve used the shower gel in my hair in the past which is bad, bad idea! It really dries hair out badly! If you’ve used Lush Big and have had experience with it making your hair dry well, that’s about the same results you’ll get with Snow Fairy Shower Gel as a shampoo! But I will say it makes your hair smell amazing for days! The scent lingers on and on and on in your hair and creates this sweet scent bubble!

Interestingly enough the shampoo wasn’t as drying as I thought it would be. It has the same creamy consistency as the shower gel except with considerably more dye (my shower tiles turned pink when I used but no worries it rinsed away) and had the same gorgeous scent. It creates a rich lather that rinses clean away. I WISH they created a conditioner along with the shampoo but sadly, we only got a shampoo! Maybe next year! I had no issues with the formula. It rinses clean away, didn’t create any dry, straw hair thank god, and it smelled great in the shower. BUT…! There’s always a but isn’t there? I actually thought the shower gel was way more powerfully scented and left my hair smelling like Snow Fairy for hours and hours and hours after where as this didn’t provide a lasting fragrance! I was a little disappointed! Sad panda! I really wanted my hair to smell like Snow Fairy all day! Sigh! Considering Lush formulas will vary from bottle to bottle since they are created fresh you might get a better scented bottle than I did but mine. I did think the scent was pretty powerful in the shower but when I dried my hair I didn’t really notice a lasting Snow Fairy scent. On the upside, it didn’t dry my hair out thankfully!

As a Snow Fairy fan girl I’d say it’s worth a try out! This year is truly Snow Fairy’s year and I’m loving all these releases scented like it! You can snag Snow Fairy Shampoo now at Lush or Ulta. Tried it? Do share!

Thought about you when my daughter and I did a Lush haul over the weekend! 🙂 Alas–no Snowcake again this year. I asked and the girl was nice but didn’t know what I was talking about! Le sigh. Also, did you see that on the Lush UK website, there are Honey I Washed the Kids CANDLES? I want one so bad but it says they can’t be shipped to the US.

Anyway, we got: Honey I Washed the Kids shampoo bar and Candy Rain conditioner for her since she is graduating to teen/adult hair care, Snow Bear soap, Mother Christmas bath bomb, American Cream (!) bath bomb, the BIG bottle of Supermilk since we both use it. I am sure we will be back to Lush a few more times over the holidays to get gifts and indulge some more ourselves. 🙂

awww I love that haha 🙂 I know. Did they ever give us any explanation why snowcake got diced? I sob about it every year! I did! I’m so sad Lusk UK stopped shipping to the USA. I’m sure we’ll ge them too but it takes so much longer 🙁 Wahooo nice haul! P.S. if you love Supermilk the perfume is coming back! No date but I think it might be for Black Friday! Wahoo!
