I Paid $50 For This Shampoo and Conditioner Duo and I Don’t Regret It

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

I did it. I purchased the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Strengthening + Smoothing Shampoo and Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Strengthening + Smoothing Conditioner and I don’t regret it at all. Each bottle is $25 each and holds nearly 10 ounces of product. I typically don’t go gaga over hair care! I do love my Lush products and of course, my Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo but I’m not one to go to gaga over hair care. However, when I heard Sol De Janeiro was launching shampoo and conditioner scented like their legendary Bum Bum Cream I immediately ordered both.

Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale 2019/2020 Starts December 26th

It’s that time again! It’s time for the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale for 2019/2020 starts December 26th in stores and online with savings on all your favorite goodies. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this sale will be great but let’s be honest for a sec here, the Bath & Body Work Semi-Annual Sale has sort of sucked the last several years. I think part of the reason for that is because Bath & Body Works does a “time release” with the sale. Basically throughout the entire month they have new mark downs and new deals every few days or every week. I dunno about you but I don’t have time to run over to Bath & Body Works every single time they release a new sale item. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

There are returning favorites which I always feel like no one, anywhere asked for. Like are there a lot of people out there yelling “WE WANT CUCUMBER MELON TO RETURN!” Some of the favorites that make a come back just aren’t one I’d personally pick out not to mention they are almost the same every single year. Why not do something new?

Here’s the returning scents:

  • Black Amethyst
  • Mad About You
  • Cashmere Glow
  • Pink Chiffon
  • Cucumber Melon
  • Black Raspberry Vanilla
  • Night Blooming Jasmine

I have some hope that they have leftover Pink Velvet Cupcake and it pops up in a bin somewhere because I missed out on it this fall and grabbed it during Body Care Day and love it. Of course, it is now gone and sold out. Maybe stores will have some leftovers on sale!

I hope this year’s Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale surprises me!

What do you hope to score during the sale?

Almay Color & Care Lip Oil-in-Stick Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
2 stars out of 5

Almay Color & Care Lip Oil-in-Stick ($7.99) are a new Spring 2020 hydrating tinted lip oil that hydrates lips and gives them a sheer wash of color with a shiny finish. If you had a sense of déjà vu when you saw these that might be because you’re thinking of the Revlon Kiss Balm that launched back in 2016 or even Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon. They kind of look the same don’t they? I wasn’t a huge fan of the Kiss Balm formula but I’m all about trying something new so I purchased two shades of Almay Color & Care Lip Oil-in-Stick for $7.99 each at Harmon’s. I’d like to say that I find the price absolutely obscene. Revlon’s Kiss Balm are 0.09 oz and $5 each where as Color & Care Lip Oil-in-Stick are the same size yet nearly $8 each. Granted, places like Walmart will likely have a cheaper price on these but imagine when they hit CVS or Walgreens where drugstore makeup notoriously higher in price? That being said, I wouldn’t mind paying the price if these were say as good as Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue Balm which is a whooping $19 at 0.10 oz. I mean, Tarte’s formula is outstanding and well worth that $19 bucks. So, if Almay gave me something along those lines I likely wouldn’t rant at the price. However, Almay Color & Care Lip Oil-in-Stick are just a meh for me. As far as I’m concerned nothing could be better than Almay’s Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick!
