Wet n Wild Mega Jelly Primer Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
4 stars out of 5

Wet n Wild Mega Jelly Face Primer ($7.99) is a new jelly primer that launched for Spring 2019 along with new Jelly Eyeshadows. I think the idea of this might seem fresh, unique, and innovative but back in 2013 Illamasqua launched Hydra Veil Primer which is pretty much identical to this formula. To this day I still use Hydra Veil Primer but hell, at $7.99 the new Wet n Wild Mega Jelly Primer is way cheaper!

Lancome Le Monochromatique Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
3 stars out of 5

Lancome Le Monochromatique is a new eyes, cheeks, and lips cream-to-powder tint that acts as an eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick which launched in nine shade selections for $25 each. I headed to Nordstrom and picked up one shade to try out sadly, they didn’t have the really bold, bright red shade I wanted called Soiree so I ended up with a bright pink called Petit Bisou. I was going to buy a few more shades but decided against it since I wanted to try the formula out first.

Here’s my review, swatches, and thoughts on Lancome Le Monochromatique!

Avon Stories Eau de Toilette Might Remind You of Pinrose

Avon Stories Eau de Toilette have launched in four different scents for Spring 2019 and they remind me Pinrose so much (and maybe a bit Good Chemistry too!).

I guess imitation is the best of flattery as they say!

I’m actually a fan of a lot of Avon fragrances! Soft Musk is amazing! Get it. Anyway, I am quite a fan of Avon fragrances so I do want to check out these new Stories EDTs out.

Josie Maran Skin Dope Argan + Hemp Oil with Live Footage of Me Reading The Reviews On It

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Some part of me thinks Josie Maran Skin Dope Argan + Hemp Oil ($65) is a ridiculous name. Dope, hemp, am I reading to much into the innuendos? As we head into Spring 2019, you’re going to start seeing a lot of “cleaner” beauty products and ones that include hemp oil. This trended started late last year with the introduction of products from Milk Makeup like their Kush High Volume Mascara which contains hemp-derived cannabis seed oil. Why do I feel like brands do this just to seem somehow edgy versus any actual real benefits from hemp oil? Don’t get me wrong here…! Hemp oil has good hydrating benefits but I do question if brands want to appear a bit more hip by including ingredients like hemp oil in their products.

Josie’s formula is a bit expensive for what you get. It’s simply organic argan oil and hemp oil nothing more, nothing less. 1.7 oz is $65 and most would argue they can get either oil for a few bucks at a local health food store. Her formula promises to address dryness, loss of firmness and elasticity as well as dullness as well as aging issue thanks to the fact it’s rich in omega 3, 6, and 9. There marketing says it’ll reveal bouncier, glowier skin and that skin will “bounce back”. It’s also part of Sephora’s “clean” line up of products that’s free of mineral oil, sulfates, etc…!

It sounds interesting enough but I’m always skeptical about the marketing on some of these products. As with most new product launches at Sephora this has great reviews already with people saying their skin is bouncy and smooth.

Actual live footage of me reading these reviews:

What do you think of Josie Maran Skin Dope Argan + Hemp Oil?

I think the name is a buzzkill for me. It’s just really not what I associate with Josie Maran. I mean, really, Skin Dope? I’m obviously getting way too old…!
