Colourpop Lux Lipstick As Great As All Those Ravings

Today seemed like a good day to review and swatch up the new Colourpop Lux Lipstick Collection that everyone on the Internet is raving about. I admit I take the ravings with a grain of salt! For example, just yesterday I was watching a few review videos for the new Memebox I Dew Care Space Kitten Mask I reviewed yesterday and all were glowing. Not many people mentioned how painful the mask was to remove and someone even called it subtly scented. Everyone has different views and opinions on products. I, myself might love something that you all hate. However, lately I’m a little more cautious when reading or watching reviews. Even when I read an Amazon book review I feel absolutely let down at how many five or four stars it gets only to buy it and be disappointed after reading it. Most of the reviews on books or other products on Amazon even when verified seem to be sponsored or samples were given or a gift card was given to the reviewer to purchase the item. Speaking of gift cards, that means the reviewer is actually buying the item and that “verified purchase” really means nothing at all. Most upsetting of all is how Goodreads is now all filled with stellar reviews on books that were given to the reviewer free of charge. It used to be a great community to get real honest reviews on your next big read.

Anyway, rant over. The moral of the story is I did read and watch the Colourpop Lux Lipstick reviews with caution. However, in this case all of the ravings are true! This is an excellent formula. It’s no real surprise though as Colourpop has produces a fairly consistent formula across the board and rarely disappoints (although there have been items that have disappointed me in the past).

Memebox I Dew Care Space Kitten Mask Is Painful, Horribly Formulated, and Fantastic

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Memebox Space Kitten Exfoliating Galactic Black Peel-Off Mask ($23) from the I Dew Care Collection is another crazy facial mask that contains shimmer much like Too Faced’s Glow Job Radiance-Boosting Glitter Face Mask that I recently hated all over. I said it before, and I’ll say it again, shimmer or glitter in a facial mask is just plain dumb. But that didn’t stop me from wanting to review it!

For me, these types of products seem like they are created for Instagram. The glitter, the shimmer, it’s all a guise to get a product to go viral across Instagram. Because let’s face it, the shimmer does sell, doesn’t it!? I know I get terribly excited about it.

MemeBox Space Kitten Mask is pretty horribly formulated. Really, you don’t want this stuff on your face. It contains some really crummy ingredients. Excuse my French. And in other news, it actually contains some good ones too!

First off, Alcohol Denat is the fourth ingredient here which is the worst kind of alcohol as it is very drying. Secondly, it contains a lot of fragrance. I found it pleasant enough but if you’re sensitive it’ll likely be a no go.

But by the funniest thing about Space Kitten Mask is the fact it’s actually fantastic on some weird level. I tried Memebox I Dew Care Disco Kitten Mask and I wasn’t terribly impressed but Space Kitten did hold some odd appeal for me.

Here’s how things went down when I tried it.
