Maybelline Summer 2016 Arrives at Drugstore

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Maybelline Summer 2016

Maybelline Summer 2016 is arriving at drugstores and it is soooo late! Maybelline Summer 2015 arrives in stores May 5th last year but this year it was a little slow coming around but now that it is finally here I’m a happy camper as there are some fantastic makeup to look forward to from this launch all of which will be available permanently.

The most exciting piece of this collection are the new Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Chrome Eyeshadows as well as the new Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint which appear to be a dupe of OCC Lip Tars. There seem to be a lot of duping of Lip Tars lately right? If you haven’t already check out my E.L.F. Lip Lacquers review as those are kind a cheap, no frills OCC RTW Lip Tar. But I digress, this is about Maybelline newness!

So, let’s take a look at Maybelline Summer 2016.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation for Summer 2016

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation

I have to admit I hate glowing foundation with a passion! Oh and concealer! Shimmer, sparkle, or glow of any kind should not be included in your concealer! It’s like putting a spotlight on your puffiness and fine lines. Thanks but no thanks! It’s one of the reasons I’ve been avoiding Amazing Concealer Illuminate! I loved their new Hydrate Concealer but I’m deadly scared that the Illuminate will be all glow-y horror show on me. I’m waiting to see it when it pops into stores as I’m hoping I’ll be proved wrong!

Foundations? Even worst. I have a round face and I always feel like glow-y foundations make my cheeks and face look plumper!

But, strobing is a way of life lately so, L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation launches at the right time as everyone wants to get their glow as much as humanly possible.

Available in 12 shades L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation promises up to 24 hours of hydrating coverage and glow. This lightweight, creamy foundation was created with dry skin in mine. It has medium coverage that provides perfecting foundation as well as an SPF 15 for sun protection.

It’s arriving soon in drugstores but if you can’t wait Ulta.com has it right this very minute.

Didn’t I Say There Would Be A Revlon PhotoReady Insta-fix Highlighter Stick?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Revlon PhotoReady Insta-fix Highlighter Stick

Earlier last month I shared the Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Contouring Duo with you that includes a Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Contouring Fix Stick as well as a highlighting stick! Now we have a two shade selection of Revlon PhotoReady Insta-fix Highlighter Stick ($13.99) available as well outside the kit! I actually spoke a little about how I thought they’d do an individual launch of this when discussing the contouring set earlier last month.

No surprise here right? Everyone’s looking to get their strobe on!

The Revlon PhotoReady Instafix Highlighter Stick is available in Gold Light and Pink Light and acts to add a touch of radiance and illuminate to your face with a creamy, easy to blend formula. I believe the Contouring Duo Set is available in three different shades of highlighter which is based upon skin tones where as these new sticks are only available in two shades.

Funny, they remind me A LOT of the Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Highlighter Stick which also comes in pink and gold!

Revlon PhotoReady Insta-fix Highlighter Stick is available now at Ulta.com.

L’Oreal Launches La Plum and La Pink Lip Palettes But Ouch the Price!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

l'oreal la palette lip plum and pink

L’Oreal La Palette Lip are now available in two new shades of La Plum and La Pink. The original lip palettes launched earlier this year for Spring 2016 and honestly, I thought they were a one off. None the less I hauled both and actually really, really liked them. I’m not a fond lip palette girl as I find them messy but both were quite nice!

So sure, I’m excited about the launch of two new ones! The original palettes were $11.99 each at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and included five shades each. One was a nude selection and the other was a plum selection. As with many drugstore items lately, L’Oreal does raise the price alarmingly on these new version at $16.99 for eight shades. They are currently offered as Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off at Ulta.com but I have to admit I still winced at the price tag. Revlon recently priced their Eyes, Lips, + Cheek Palette at $17.99 each which I felt was a bit absurd. Seems like you really have to aim for sales and clip coupons to get a good deal at the drugstore lately! Maybelline’s Lip Palette which launched last year for $11.99 that turned out to be limited edition was a deal in comparison as it too, contained eight shades but was $11.99. It just boggles my mind a little bit how drugstore prices continue to rise.

But I’ll digress from my ranting and give you a few more deets on these palettes. Both palettes contains mix and match shades in three finishes that include creams, mattes, and highlighting/sheerer shades and each follows a pink or plum color scheme with the plum looking like it contains the more deeper shades!

I’m not sure I’m yet willing to dish out near $20 on a lip palette from L’Oreal but having tried the original ones maybe they can convince me.

What do you think of the new La Palette Lip shades?

E.L.F. Poreless Facial Primer A Hot Slick Mess

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

E.L.F. Poreless Facial Primer

I had a mild panic the other day when I came across E.L.F. Poreless Facial Primer in stores. Why? Because I thought to myself what if Revlon discontinued Photoready Face Primer. I’d be crushed, devastated, sad, possibly jump off a building in despair unhappy. Ok, slight exaggeration there but yeah, I’m pretty much a lover of Revlon Photoready Face Primer. E.L.F. primer just looked so much like it my life flashed before me without Revlon Photoready Primer in it and suddenly, I was all about finding a dupe!

When I saw E.L.F.’s Poreless Facial Primer sitting on the shelf, I thought to myself, “How great would it be if this was a six buck dupe of my beloved Revlon formula?” I’d sleep better knowing I had a back up just in case Revlon decided to axe it!
