The question that begs answering and one that keeps me up at night is will there be a Beauty and the Beast Makeup Collection? With the Beauty and the Beast film upcoming on March 17 starring Emma Watson you would think that the makeup world would be clamoring to get involved in creating some fabulous collection to celebrate the launch of the movie. I haven’t heard a whisper about this yet.

Sephora has done Disney Collections featuring the Little Mermaid, Jasmine from Aladdin, and Cinderella but the closest they have come to creating anything for Belle was a compact mirror that launched with the Reigning Beauties Collection.

But the E.L.F. Beauty and the Beast Makeup Collection did fill that hole that Sephora left behind. E.L.F. created a rather cute Beauty and the Beast Collection last in 2015 that includes an eyeshadow palette as well as other fun little products.

But I’m greedy….

I’d love to see someone else tackle a Beauty and the Beast Makeup Collection. MAC did one for Cinderella which mmmm was nice but I wasn’t terribly impressed with it. I wonder if they’ll be tackling Belle’s Collection too? What are the chances we might actually see Urban Decay get involved considering their track record with creating Alice in Wonderland Palettes?

I’m always been a Belle fan. She’s my favorite princesses! So, I’m eager to see Emma Watson in the role.

What would you love to see from a Beauty and the Beast Makeup Collection?

And who would you like to see doing it?

MAC, maybe Colourpop Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, Urban Decay?

Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’m honestly not a huge MAC fan, but I would like to see them do a Beauty and the Beast collection. But you know, put effort into it. Beautiful packaging, new shades, that sort of thing. Not just their same old stuff in LE packaging.

Pür Cosmetics has done some good movie tie-ins — The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Jupiter Ascending, and others. Their Cinderella one in 2015 has been my favorite although maybe too much packaging. I could just play with the box!

Anyhoo, in a B&tB collection I think the famous yellow-gold gown should be a focus. You could have an eye shadow or two and a highlighter. No other ideas off the top of my head but I look forward to reading what others think.

Yeah! I reviewed some of those 🙂 Also Trolls they did recently. I’d love a yellow gold eyeshadow!

I would be shocked if there wasn’t a collection. I’ve been assuming it will be MAC – I can see them putting the red rose on their black packaging. Urban Decay might be more interesting. (Remember the Oz movie collection UD did?)

Anyone else confused that PUR palette is coming out 2 months after the Trolls movie was released?

    • Isabella Muse

haha omg funny you mentioned it, something like that happened with Jupiter Ascending too, the movie got pushed forward and the palette launched early, poor Pur can’t catch a break. maybe Trolls is launching on DVD? and thus the palette? I really liked the oz collection, both of those palettes were lovely!

The reason it came out two months after the movie released is because they didn’t know if it would be a hit or not if it’s not a hit there’s no point in making a make up collection after it … and once you realize the movies a hit it takes months to make that collection!!! The Cinderella, beauty and the beast, etc… Collections did not come out with the movies! They in fact came out many moons later lol!

Actually MAC launched the Cinderella Collection in Feb and the movie launched in March so that collection did coincide with the release of the film. Most collaborations like this take place prior to a film’s release, for example the Make Up For Ever Fifty Shades of Grey Collection launched prior to the films. Brands are in this to make money, releasing a branded collections at the same time as a movie release is what they are aiming for as they say strike when the iron is hot. It wouldn’t make much sense for them to take a back seat and wait to see if the movie is going to be a hit or not before launching the collection. That sounds like a rather strange marketing technique if everyone “waited until they knew the movie made money”. Does Pixar or Dreamworks wait to see if one of there kid’s movies is going to be a hit before they launch a toy line? Does M&M or Coca-Cola wait to release branded bottles/limited edition flavors until they know a movie is going to be a hit? I’ve actually never seen anyone do this before, interesting you think the wait two months after a movie releases to launch a collaboration collection. I’ve rarely seen that happen outside of the odd DuWop Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. Which collections are you speaking about? Curious minds which released two months after the release of the film!

    valid questions Muse 🙂
imagine the possibilities around the mirror ♥

I’m REALLY hoping that MAC will do one. The Malificent collection was a complete waste and the Cinderella collection was underwhelming but I have hopes that they could do something amazing for Beauty and the Beast.

A clear acrylic tube with a rose on it and whatever logo they’ll use would be great. A Cogsworth highlighter with a clock face stamped into it, a Lumiere Lipglass, a pale gold base with pearl and sparkles…two eye palettes, one called The Beauty (light colors, nudes, a golden yellow thrown in) and one called The Beast (stormy blues and grays with a charcoal black)…A classic red satin lipstick called A Tale As Old As Time, maybe a deep wine matte called The Beast Within…WHY CAN’T MAC HIRE ME????

  • Marina

I can’t wait to see Beauty and the Beast but don’t want any beast images on my compact, thank you. I’m just so surprised they did an old Selena collection but not a Selena Gomez collection which I would love to have and I don’t even listen to her music but you gotta love her makeup looks and girls everywhere would be so happy to see one. Mac is not very impressive lately they’re my love but their quality has slowly been dying.
    Love you Muse !

    • Isabella Muse

haha me either. Beast on a compact=not good. xoxox Love ya back!

I’d love to see a collection and I’m surprised we haven’t heard anything yet.

After seeing Lancôme’s spring collection, I think I’d like to see them do a Beauty and the Beast theme.

Hell, I’m just wishing for a proper Star Wars collection! That one from CG was shameful!! And now that Disney owns SW, Princess Leia needs her own collection!!! (RIP Carrie, I love you).

I’m a Mac lover, so I’m hoping for a Mac collection. I didn’t get anything from the Maleficent and Cinderella collections and regretted it. My birthday is in March, so maybe I’ll luck out and get some good birthday gifts!

Beauty and the Beast is one of my top favorite Disney movies and I’m the most excited for the upcoming movie – I always thought Belle was a great role model haha. I recently fell in love with MAC after I figured out their pro palette refill pans are $6, so I hope they do one 🙂 Or maybe Lancome or Nars since they’re french brands and Beauty and the Beast is a french fairy tale.

  • Katie

Belle has always been my favorite Disney princess too! I would die if Colourpop did a Beauty and the Beast collection!!! I doubt they would but they’ve been doing a lot of different things lately so you never know. I would absolutely love to see a MAC collection! I’m not always impressed with the color choices they make but their packaging is always great. My Cinderella eyeshadow palette needs a friend!

    • Isabella Muse

oh wow a colourpop beauty and the beast collection would be brilliant!

  • Kesch Allen

I really really really want someone to do a collection. I would prefer it NOT be MAC. I would love to see a Cruelty Free brand do the collection. It is starting to make sense that Lancome would do a collection as Emma Watson is already a model/spokeswoman for them. I just honestly, thought I would have seen some new releases by now. I”m kinda loosing hope. The Lancome Spring collection already features Roses. Might be overkill for them to try both. I impatiently await the news. Crossing Fingers!!
