Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette32

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette ($42) is a new 14 shade eyeshadow palette that launched for Summer 2016 which is made up of mostly matte finish eyeshadows. This is a pretty unique shade as it contains both warmer neutrals and stronger pops of not only pink but red. I feel like red is a color that doesn’t get nearly enough airtime here in the US so it is nice seeing it in this particular palette.

The contrast of the neutrals combined with the richer pinks, reds, and oranges makes for a very exciting range of shades. The fact that many of the shades are matte might be exciting for some makeup lovers as well.

Carol’s Daughter Monoi Eau de Toilette Is Absolutely Delightful!

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Carol's Daughter Monoi perfume

With a sad heart I bring you a review today of Carol’s Daughter Monoi Eau de Toilette ($60). It is absolutely delightful and disappointingly sold out. I can’t express how badly I feel about this because 1. I really wanted Carol’s Daughter fans to be able to try this out and 2. I’m kicking myself for not getting a backup.

I hate doing reviews of products that are sold out as it creates really bad lemmings 🙁 Lemmings that can’t be fulfilled.

I thought I’d do a review anyway in the hopes this will pop back up into stock too. It’s funny as I was just discussing a few days ago how I wish Black Vanilla was a perfume and in that post I had expressed how much I really love Carol’s Daughter’s fragrances and how I thought they should do more perfumes and fragrance mists along with their hair and body care. And suddenly, up pops Carol’s Daughter Monio Eau de Toilette!

Clinique Extends Its Pep-Start Skincare Collection

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer

Clinique Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer ($29.50) and the upcoming Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser arrive for Summer 2016 and join Clinique’s Pep-Start Eye Cream.

Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser is not yet available but Clinique Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer is at Sephora.com. This moisturizer apparently not only acts as to hydrate skin but also acts as a primer of sorts for makeup. It was created with all skin types in mind and provides lightweight hydration while it instantly blurs imperfections and smooths skin while controlling oil. It sets to a matte finish but still promises to keep skin moist and hydrated throughout the day so fine lines and pores are softened and smoothed.

I wasn’t a fond fan of Pep-Start Eye Cream. I thought it was very nicely moisturizing but the many promises it made such as depuffing eyes just wasn’t happening for me. I’m hoping the new Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer might work for me but I’m always skeptical of matte finish products created with dry skin in mind. They just never quite work out. The formula kind of sounds like L’Oreal Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream which I happen to like so, maybe I’ll enjoy Clinique’s formula as well!

What do you think?

P.S. How was your weekend? Mine was exhausting. I truly hate Mondays with a passion!
