Carol’s Daughter Monoi Eau de Toilette Is Absolutely Delightful!
With a sad heart I bring you a review today of Carol’s Daughter Monoi Eau de Toilette ($60). It is absolutely delightful and disappointingly sold out. I can’t express how badly I feel about this because 1. I really wanted Carol’s Daughter fans to be able to try this out and 2. I’m kicking myself for not getting a backup.
I hate doing reviews of products that are sold out as it creates really bad lemmings 🙁 Lemmings that can’t be fulfilled.
I thought I’d do a review anyway in the hopes this will pop back up into stock too. It’s funny as I was just discussing a few days ago how I wish Black Vanilla was a perfume and in that post I had expressed how much I really love Carol’s Daughter’s fragrances and how I thought they should do more perfumes and fragrance mists along with their hair and body care. And suddenly, up pops Carol’s Daughter Monio Eau de Toilette!
Carol’s Daughter Monoi is a fragrance I’ve tried before as a few of Carol’s Daughters products are scented like this including one of her spray in hair conditioners. I didn’t really like the scent as much as I did Black Vanilla in all honesty as I’m not really a beach-y fragrance kind of girl. But for some reason or another the perfume actually turned into something special for me. If you’re a great lover of fragrances like Bobbi Brown Beach, I’m positive you’ll love this!
Monoi is the quintessential Summer fragrance to me. The creation of monoi is an interesting one as basically Tahitian gardenias are soaked in coconut oil which creates a wonderful tanning oil-like scent. I’ve only been to Hawaii once in my life and it was an unforgettable experience and this fragrance brings back many memories from that trip. Surely if you could bottle up Hawaii into a fragrance this would indeed be it because this is the smell of paradise.
I went to a music festival this weekend and as you know you’re pretty much squished into each other at venues like this. I swear my fragrance just wafted around me as things heated up and I smelled like a walking commercial for the best tanning oil around. It seems this particular fragrance works well in the heat because the warmer I became the more I could smell it. Mind you, this is an eau de toilette yet it had the linger and throw of a perfume. It’s weird because as the day turned to night the fragrance seemed to morph and became a little Zoologist Hummingbird on me! But from morning until night four spritzes of it lastesd for a solid 12 hours on my skin.
I loved this and I have hopes it’ll be back soon so I can grab a back up. I also have hopes this means Carol’s Daughter might just have more fragrances in the works because truly the brand excels at creating gorgeous fragrances for their products.
Carol’s Daughter Monoi Eau de Toilette is out of stock right now on HSN.com but keep your eyes peeled hopefully it comes back really soon!
