Stila has been around forever and a day! I’ve been obsessed with the brand far too many years to count (it’s been around since 1994) especially when Stila Kitten was a thing and the Stila Girls were something we simply could not get enough of! From Stila Travel Girl Palettes to Stila Kitten Powder it was all so terribly cute! Hell, I still have the Stila Picnic Trios. In 2010, Stila was no longer available at Sephora and a new era started when it was purchased by Patriarch Partners. In all my years with Stila Cosmetics I’ve never seen them do a setting spray. If you ever in your life remember them doing a makeup setting spray I need you to immediately contact me. E-mail, DM, comments, because never in my life do I remember a Stila Setting Spray and that’s exactly what we’re getting in the Stila Spring 2024 Collection!

Stila Stay All Day Blurring Setting Spray is a new lightweight mist to keep makeup fresh and long-wearing for 16 hours. It was created to blur and smooth skin as it sets makeup. It has a citrus scent with notes or orange, passion, and lily flower extracts. I’m not really a setting spray kind of girl! I always feel like I’m ruining my makeup when I apply it so I don’t really need this but I think it sorts of exciting that after all these years Stila was like, well, time to try something different.

Jones Road has released a new Shower Perfume and I’m here for it. If you don’t yet know Jones Road is a fairly new brand that went viral last year for its What the Foundation. This product is a lightweight, sheer-tinted moisturizer of sorts that was getting all sorts of viral moments on Tiktok when Meredith Duxbury proceeded to smear it all over her face and didn’t quite get the results she expected. Makeup artist and creator of Jones Road, Bobbi Brown, quickly stepped in to ensure Meredith was informed how to use the product. Ever after that, the foundation found a way across Tiktok with users either dragging it or loving it.

Those who dragged it didn’t really understand the concept behind the inspiration for the brand which was a smaller collection of products with a focus on simpler formulations that worked to enhance your natural beauty. It’s also a brand that those who prefer more natural would love.

Bobbi went a lot smaller with this brand and I’m all about that. Don’t get me wrong, I love variety but that can be overwhelming sometimes. Smaller is nice sometimes and Joans Road pretty much covers a few product launches without overdoing things.

Their latest launch is a new Shower Perfume. It’s 1 oz in size and a very affordable $42. The scent is designed to smell like you just got out of the shower. As a love of Replica Bubble Bath, this sounds very appealing and the notes sound divine. It’s a simple mix of neroli, orange blossom, and sea spray! Anyone knowing how neroli and orange blossom go so well together should be jumping on this right now! It went out of stock after the second relaunch of the fragrance and it went back out of stock soon after. I was clearing out some of my old makeup recently and I got to thinking about makeup and how much I love it but how I’ve made quite a few mistakes over the years with it. Bad application techniques, purchasing items that were cute or pretty but didn’t have a great formula, selecting colors (like pastels!) that really weren’t great for my skin tone, and many, many other mistakes. Mistakes are a good thing though as we learn from them but it never hurts to get a helping hand from someone who’s a little older or a little more experienced.

Do you have any younger girls or boys in your life just getting into makeup? What’s some advice you’d give a new, younger makeup users? Or even just someone new who is just getting into makeup? I have one piece of advice I’d give both new users and even old ones.
