Ok, you don’t have to convince me too much to try your new foundation out, About-Face! The new About-Face The Performer Skin-Focused Foundation launched yesterday in 45 shades for a very reasonable $22 (their pricing isn’t bad at all not to mention they are always on sale at Ulta). It’s also now available at ulta.com!

The new About-Face The Performer Skin-Focused Foundation promises a moisturizing, smoothing formula that provides breathable, buildable coverage with a soft focus finish. They are hitting all the right buttons with me as I love a skin-like foundation that can be customized and worn sheerer or built up for more coverage. It’s packaged like Too Faced Born This Way Matte Longwear Liquid Foundation Makeup in the fact it comes with a large doe foot applicator so you can easily dab it on. This makes it easy to use under your eyes as well should you like (although, I personally don’t like foundation under my eyes as it tends to look too made up for me not to mention creases badly).

They have a rather great “find your match” shade finder on their website because it seems to have matched me with a good shade. I was impressed with the match they gave me (or at least it looked good in the promo image). I think I MAY wait for an Ulta launch though just so I can see the shades in person. I’m really excited to try this though! It feels like a formula I’m going to love.

11 brand new shades of Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush have launched for Spring 2024 (with a new vegan formula) and can we just discuss the fact I’ve been pleading for some sort of new blush formula from Tarte for ages now. I have a confession. I used to be obsessed with these but my obsession really tapered off a bit. I still like them but I really do prefer blushes that have a bit of a glow to them or some shimmer. Most of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes claim to be satin but they’re more a drier matte! Plus the shades are always so bold and loud and I can’t get on board with shades like this lately. I guess my taste in blush has just evolved a fair bit and the obsession simply isn’t there anymore.

I did always wish that Tarte would reintroduce these with more shimmer or glow. They have that one beautiful shimmer shade called Glisten (this is of course, outside the Holiday Amazonian Clay Blush launches as some of the sets did include shimmery ones) that I absolutely loved the finish on that shade and had always hoped Tarte would introduce more shades like it. Sadly, it never happened.

Select palettes from Natasha Denona are final sale with no exchanges at Sephora. I saw a discussion about this on Reddit and went to investigate and it appears select palettes have a little listing that states, “Final Sale: No returns or exchanges”. There also appears to be a “LEARN MORE” hyperlink next to the no exchange warning but you can’t click it. Redditors think that perhaps it means that Natasha Denona is pulling out of Sephora especially since now Ulta sells the brand but I don’t think that’s the case at all.
