Patrick Ta Major Dimension III Matte Eyeshadow Palette ($70) is coming and it totally seals the deal that mattes are back for Fall 2023 (especially considering the Danessa Myricks Groundwork Palette is serving up mattes too!). I don’t mind so much! A few years ago I’d totally be ranting about mattes but a lot has changed. I’m older and I appreciate mattes more BUT most important of all mattes have evolved so MUCH! My introduction to mattes was REALLY not a good one. 10 plus years ago mattes were dense, dry, chalky, patchy…it wasn’t a pretty experiencing trying to apply matte eyeshadow. It dragged across your eyes like a razor blade. So much has changed with mattes and my hate for them has diminished and my love for them has grown!

Part of that love is due to Tarte. Seriously, back in the day Tarte was like one of the only brands I can remember doing soft, silky mattes. They were just lovely! My personal favs nowadays though comes from Etude House. I love their single shades and of course, some of their palettes are awesome too. I have so many of Etude House’s single shades it’s obscene. I miss them doing collections of these. It’s been a while!

Anyway, the My Major Mattes Eyeshadow Palette will feature incorporate cool and warm tones in one palette. There are 12 shades total two of which are creams that can be used to line and define (or perhaps even as a base for powder).

The question that demands answering though is this new and innovation? No, it’s not. It’s been done a million times over. The main difference here is it hasn’t been done by Patrick and in Patrick we trust right? Patrick Ta’s formulations are pretty darn awesome. So, if you’re thinking, “I have shades like this a dozen times over” you’d be right. However, if you LIKE Patrick Ta makeup this eyeshadow palette may be tempting enough to warrant a purchase.

Ariana Grande Cloud Pink Perfume is the latest Cloud to join Ariana’s growing Fragrance Collection. This is one of three Cloud Perfumes that Ariana has done and includes yummy pink pineapple and dragon fruit berry notes making it a fruiter version of the original Cloud and Cloud 2.0. When this was originally teased I expected it to smell like a cross between Tom Ford Lost Cherry and Baccarat Rouge 540. It does not. The original Cloud smells like Baccarat Rouge 540 and Cloud 2.0 Intense smells like Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait. I just assumed that Ariana might hop on board with the viral trend of contacting BR540 with Tom Ford Lost Cherry. But she did not.

If you live in my Gotham head over to Williamsburg to experience the joys of a Chanel Diner this Fall. Yes, a Chanel Diner. Chanel is taking over a diner starting September 8th through the 10th to celebrate the commemorate launch of Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Parfum. They even renamed the diner temporarily to Chanel Lucky Chance Diner and yes, you can go there but and it’s free but reservations are required and can be made on the Chanel website.

But don’t expect to be served up a batch of chicken fingers and fries or a greasy cheeseburger (Karl would never approve). In the diner, guests will sit at booths or counters to explore the brand’s fragrance offerings, such as the Chance range. The diner will be adorned with pink and green interior, a pink double-C logo clock, branded napkin holders, and more.

It sounds like a fun idea and of course, I’m sure it’s an Instragammable moment if you love yourself some Chanel. The Chanel Lucky Chance Diner will be located at 225 Wythe Ave in Brooklyn! Just don’t expect to see Choupette there! Karl would never approve (although he loved his Diet Coke I doubt he’s approved of Chanel diner grub!).
