E.L.F. Halo Glow Blush Beauty Wand ($9) is a new glowing liquid blush that launched in four shades for Spring/Summer 2023. Everyone is going quite mad over these and promoting them as a dupe of Charlotte Tilbury’s popular Beauty Highlighter Wand. Keep in mind that E.L.F. went the extra mile and released these Halo Glow wands in not only a blush formula but also, in a Contour/Bronzer and Highlighter option. And I’m pretty sure at some point we’ll have a matte version a la Charlotte’s Matte Beauty Blush Wands.
Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Firmeza Firming & Debloating Body Oil ($52) is a new moisturizing body oil scented like Sol de Janeiro’s original and cult favorite, Cheirosa ’62 Perfume Mist. Yup, that beautiful tropical caramel and pistachio cocktail are now available in glorious body oil. I’m really into body oils lately so, all I can say is yasssssssss!
And by way, that’s actually where it should have stopped. Body oil is good, I’m fine with that but they got all this weird depuffing, firming stuff going on that I’m not sure is even working. It contains “Guaraná Caffeine+ Complex” to help firm but that sounds like something Soap and Glory would put in their marketing. Remember how they would promote stuff with strange ass stuff like “Matrix Algae” and “Triple Pep Protect”. I’m exaggerating those terms obviously but you know whaT I mean.
Sol De Janeiro did clinical studies on this and they said their volunteers experienced less bloating in their stomach area after a 20 minute abdominal lymphatic drainage massage. I imagine the massage along helped the drainage not so much the oil. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Sol de Janeiro and they could sell some snow in the Winter but I don’t need all this extra marketing with every product release. They proved time and time again that their formulas are good and their scents are unique and amazing and that’s really all I need. Nothing else required.
I’m ranting though when I should be raving. Gotta say I did indulge in another bottle of Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Firmeza Firming & Debloating Body Oil recently at sephora.com. I got 20% off since I’m Rouge and Sol De Janeiro has so few sales that made this a way better bargain than the $52 I paid for it originally. This is only a 3.4 oz bottle and the price makes me go ouch even with the discount. I wish it was a bit bigger at this price! I’d love an 8 oz at least.
