I’m a late fan girl to the world of Wet Bush. I purchased Wet Brush one day when my sister recommended it and it’s been a brush I used daily since! I used to use a paddle brush on my long hair but Wet Brushes are way more gentle. I tend to look a lot of hair when brushing. I shed horribly. I HAVE A LOT OF HAIR! Like, a lot, a lot….and it can be a pain to take care of but Wet Brush slices through my hair like a hot knife through butter. It gets through tangles and knots easily without yanking my hair out and makes it super smooth in a single stroke. It takes really very little effort to get my hair detangled. It was one of the best things I purchased and I can’t thank my sister enough for recommending it to me.
So of course, I want my Wet Brush to represent my house colors! Who wouldn’t? No but seriously, I do love all these little collaborations that Wet Brush does as I’m a geek and a kid at heart which makes a Wet Brush Harry Potter Collection a must for me.

NARS Afterglow Sensual Shine Lipstick and they have thee cutest promo model in the marketing I had to do a double take because I thought it was Taylor Swift for a second! Wait it isn’t her right? Or is it? I mean, if it isn’t it’s a great way to promote Taylor! Haha!
Anyway, most important of all, who’s freaking excited about this lipstick? Because I totally am! I’m so happy that the makeup world got the message about me wanting more moisturizing and shiny lipsticks. Praise the Gods it’s happening! I see a lot of new shiny lipsticks popping up and I couldn’t be happier! Long live shiny lips and out with the long-wearing liquid lipsticks of old!
It’s probably a very unpopular opinion matte, long-wear liquid lipsticks remind me of the early YouTube days when everyone was absolutely bonkers for them. I always find they go a bit crusty on my dry lips and they prove really difficult to touch up throughout the day! I did a post a while back ago about How To Reapply or Touch Up Liquid Lipstick Throughout the Day and it’s seriously, a hack I use to this day when I need to reapply as my lips simply won’t stand for wearing a lipstick for eight hours without a touch up.
I realize having your lipstick just remain on all day is rather convenient especially when it wears through eating and long work days. But personally, I find after a few hours it begins to crack and crumble on me and makes my lips look old and prune-like. I just avoid using it whenever possible. I prefer shiny, glossier lips even if that means I’ll need to touch them up more often throughout the day.
The new NARS Afterglow Sensual Shine Lipstick is a hybrid formula that promises eight hours of hydration with a mango and shea butter-infused formula. It adds high shine and long-lasting color to lips. I hope the shine factor is there and this isn’t a glorified version of NARS Afterglow Lip Balm. I’m really hyped because they have this formula available in Dolce Vita which is one of my favorite my lip shade but better nude shades from NARS. Dolce Vita is one of the best nude lipstick shades I’ve ever come across and I always get excited when some new lip formula is introduced in the shade.

For a while, CC and BB Creams were a key part of my foundation routine. I was obsessed with all the Korean formulas and I loved how much coverage they provided while remaining lightweight and natural. But a few years ago I ran across Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation and it’s become my ride-or-die formula. A few months ago I ended up hauling Tarte Shape Tape Cloud CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen and a little of my love for CC Creams returned! After that Erborian CC Crème and Dermablend CC Cream stepped into my life and I was pretty much back on the “I love CC and BB Cream” bandwagon. I think I’m re-entering my CC and BB Cream Era. This Summer, will be a return to natural, lightweight coverage.
